Moebius 1:8 Grim Reaper - MMK972

I've really been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this kit and by how well it comes togeather. Most of the models this company produces are revived Auroria models from the nineteen fifties and while those old models were fun and nostalgic their quality left a lot to be desired. Anyway I was looking through the reissues of those old Auroria model kits and came across this one and I didn't recognise it, was it one that I missed back in the day or was the manufacturers of these Auroria reissues trying something of their own. It looked an interesting model so I bought one and yes it is far better than I expected. The modelling of the fine detail is almost Tamiya quality and while there is some flashing to be cleaned off the injection molding is very good and when cleaned up they fit togeather very precisely giving a very clean over all look to the model, with only a minimal filling to hide shut line gaps and seams. Once given a primer coat the model looks just like a one piece sculpture and the finish is down to how well you paint it. But there's nothing about it I can fault and exactly how I would have wanted it to be.. Photo's of the finished model. The model is assembled as per the instructions. The figures body filled with plasticine to give it weight and stability. Glue used: Humbrol Poly Cement. Paint £2 tubes of Acrylic from Wilco and The Works. The Ivy on the tree trunk and the sods of grass: scenery for model railways. Lettering THANATOS on marble name plate: nail bar stickers, sealed on with clear nail polish.
