disc will not play
DK Play and Learn Reading and Counting. I purchased this cd rom in the hope of helping my little boy gain some basic skillswhile learning how to use the computer at the same time. I was really looking forward to using the disc as the content lookedquite interesting and appealing. Unfortunately the disc will not play on the computer despite having all the relevant specifications. I contacted the manufacturers and all instructions given still do not help to get the disc working. I would not recommend anyone to buy this disc.

Check your pc system!
Bit old fashioned! wouldn't work on my Windows 7 programme. Waste of money - didnt think I should check the system guidelines.

Good for starters & improvers
Our 5 year old immediately got stuck in to this, some of it isn't very challenging for him but that sustains his interest if he can actually solve the puzzles without asking for help. Particularly good for improving mouse skills. I'm pretty sure our 2 year old could have a try at some of the games. Graphics good, no annoying songs every time a correct answer is achieved. Well worth the money.

Well beyond its sell-by date
Initially installed this and got it working. To be honest it really shows its age and is not that easy for children to use as you need to be pretty specific with where you are pointing the mouse. On every start up it prompted an install of a new version of Quicktime even though the version on our computer was much more up to date. After accidentally selecting to install during one boot-up, the program completely stopped working and started to generate error messages. The publisher tried to fix it through various email exchanges but nothing could be done to retrieve it. Sent it back for a refund.

Useful tool
This was bought for a nursery school am involved with and they use it a lot. They find it very helpful

Doesn't run on Vista 64
My wife ordered it on recommendation, but despite the packaging saying it runs on Vista, it turns out not to run on Vista 64, and the suppliers say that no fix is available or planned. It will go back to Amazon for a refund; another few hours of my life wasted.
