Ottogi, a South Korean food manufacturing company, has recently rebranded to Otoki to enhance its global reach and make the brand more recognizable to international consumers.So this is the Ottogi Jin Ramen that I heard about from a YT video review from 4 chefs in which this was a favorite. I'm glad I get a chance to try this out.What strikes me as different from the other ramens that I've tried is that these noodles hold their shape really well even after cooking. They're waving and they stay that way. They have a really nice texture to them. When they are still dry, if you bite into them they've got this sort of a soft crunch to them. After cooking the noodles in water alone, the water has sort of an oily or fatty look which at that point I combine the two included packets (one seasoning, one dehydrated veggies). In the dehydrated packet, there's green onions, some meat flakes (or lookalike meat), red pepper flakes, and more. I tend to pick out the pepper flakes while the water is heating as I don't like the added spice there. Then I add in the powdered seasoning mix which has a red hue to it.This ramen has a medium heat level and will cause my nose to run but it's not a noticeable heat on the tongue as I don't really feel any burn or anything. There's a very slight sweetness to the broth and more saltiness and savoriness and I enjoy the flavor.Mostly what stands out to me though are the texture and goodness of the noodles themselves.

I ordered the box because it had BTS Jin and the IG acct link said it had the photocards. Disappointed that the box had no Jin and no photocards

This Jin ramen (spicy) was delicious. The noodles are great; they have a wonderful texture. The broth is spicy and flavorful, but not too spicy. A typical spicy ramen has my teenager sweating and looking for sour cream or cheese to tone it down, but the spice level on this was just right. The photo shows the ramen, and all we added wan an egg.
