Panasonic HomeHawk Outdoor Security Camera
I've tried a number of Chinese branded security cameras from Amazon but they all stopped working within a year. Then I decided to give Panasonic HomeHawk outdoor security camera a try. After I used it for two weeks I would say that overall I'm happy with this purchase.Pro:easy to setup the camera and app is easy to use (compare to those Chinese brands).local storage on a microSDXC card.motion sensor works well.two way speaker is loud enough.camera blends in with my door frame.day time picture quality is good.wide angle lens is goodyou can select areas of monitoring.Con:night time picture quality is just so-so (better in monochrome than color)fully charged battery lasts only a week for me (maybe due to heavy foot traffic)can't turn off the light next to camera lens.I will buy another Panasonic add-on camera to monitor back yard soon.

VERY GOOD HOME SECURITY CAMERA WITHOUT MONTHLY PAYMENTS OR WIRES!
After carefully researching for a security camera for our house we decided to take a leap of faith and buy this one. It definitely is worth every single penny we spent on it. Even though we were half way across the world in Thailand we saw all the activity we needed to see especially at our front door camera. We were even able to speak with our next door neighbor while out of town to thank them for picking up our Christmas packages left in front of our doorway.NOTE:We are writing this review after having this camera for about 4 months.--Here is what separates this from all the other cameras you see out there--1.)NO CLOUD STORAGE NEEDED. WE just chose to get a large GB storage. 128 gb which is ample amount of storage.2.) NO MONTHLY PAYMENTS needed like the other cameras such as Ring, Arlo..etc...3.)When somebody walks to your front door, the camera quickly alerts by saying "Premises being monitored." Why is this important you say? It startles people and automatically they look up and stare right into the camera. So now you have a good picture of the person's FACE entering your premises area.4.) Easy instillation. No wires or cables to worry about. So overall we are satisfied with this security camera.*Tip: For the people having issues with their connections getting cut off, get a WIFI amplifier! We had minor issues with connecting but as soon as we installed an amplifier no more issues.

Highly disappointed so far
I love the almost flush mount above the door. I like the clarity of the picture and the field of vision. I like the two way audio feature. It was very easy to install over the front door. Those are the positives. One of the reasons for selecting this camera was that it works with Alexa. Nowhere in the printed instructions does it mention that you must have a Panasonic ID to link with Alexa. Trying to get a Panasonic ID has been impossible. The link sent to confirm the registration does not work. No chat ability on their website and customer service is closed until morning. So, no Alexa link.It will not retain connection. I have had to deregister and reregister the device with my cell phone three times and it has lost connection again. It remains connected as long as I don't try to do adjust any settings such as the motion detection (hence the one star as I can't set that). I cannot close out the app to use the phone and then reopen and maintain connection.I will be contacting customer service regarding these issues in the morning and will update this review as necessary. At this moment, however, I do not recommend this product.8/1/2020 Update: Spent over 1/2 hour with customer service this morning. We could not resolve the Panasonic ID issue. I did regain connection. Service representative passed the issue to the support team. Received an email that afternoon from tech support that I need to purchase an Access Point to use with the camera. I bought the entire package of camera *and* Access Point so this was useless information. I called customer service again and after another 1/2 hour effort the rep stated that I probably needed to exchange the Access Point (and the camera) for a new system. So, it is in the process of being returned and replaced. Will provide updates when I receive the replacement.Update 8/10/2020 The replacement arrived Friday and I installed and set it up. I still couldn't get a Panasonic ID and customer service was closed until 10:00 am (EDT) this morning (Monday). Connectivity remains an issue as it will lose its connection when the app is closed and takes multiple attempts to reestablish. I spoke with customer service this morning; again not helpful. Waiting for an email from tech support about the Panasonic ID issue and the ability to connect to Alexa. At this point, I am ready to return and request a refund. I have another brand of camera for a different area that is working with no issues, works with Alexa and also has an app that I have downloaded to my desktop and can work with that in addition to my mobile device. I'm leaning toward switching to that brand even though the cameras are not designed with the flush mount offered by Panasonic. Will give one more update once I hear about the Alexa issue.8/11/2020 Final update: I am returning this camera. I have yet to receive any contact from tech support regarding the issue with acquiring a Panasonic ID so that I can connect this with Alexa. The system does not maintain connectivity and I must make multiple attempts before I can finally make a connection. Sometime, I can't and quit. I have had three alerts about activity at the front door and video clips of those alerts. Two of them were about 20 seconds in duration each and were of branches blowing near the front door. The third was actually a package delivery; however, the camera froze after one second so it never showed more than a blurred image of someone approaching my front door. Totally useless. I do not recommend this product.

Not so good
I bought this product once, an replaced once. First camera battery life did not work correctly it kept dying even with the settings on the lowest possible, even after a full day an night charge. Second camera worked properly for about 2 weeks, then the cam started experiencing latency on a ridiculous level. After the latency issue the cam's motion detection was ultra sensitive even on the lowest advanced setting just started recieving random notices, an the cam was in a narrow hall on a front door not completly blocked by all the elements but still was indoors with more protection than a front porch. For picture quality it has a really good still picture but really bad motion blur hard to make out people unless they were slow moving. Nightvision is so/so the monochrome was the better option but I had to add a spotlight on the door for support. Overall I would not recommend this system there are better options out there for the price. Lastly, the best thing about this cam was the concept of true 100% wireless just wish it would've had PTZ capabilities.

no wiring needed, place homehawk router close to your cameras
Installation is easy, charge the cameras before install, I use only 2 cams, third is extra, one(main) at front and one on the back of my house. You can adjust sensitivity, recordings are kept for 24hrs. Very good product so far, have to figure out how to download recordings

Stops working in cold weather
This is a very big problem with this camera. We live in a cold country and when the camera does not work, we have to take it down, recharge it after a few weeks and put it back.I will likely have to return this camera after six months of use. Also, it stops working if the memory fills up.
