Great device for reading greens
Now this little device is really cool. It does a great job providing correct break on the putting green. I can see why greenskeepers might use this to prove to their assistants that they're setting pins on slopes. Very accurate on the up/down/flat degrees of a putt and pretty accurate on the direction of the break (more difficult to determine "slight" break differences). It's not going to guarantee that you make putts but it will pretty much guarantee that if the putt breaks down and to the left you don't read a right break into the putt. And the degrees uphill/downhill or flat are very accurate. Not legal for tournament play but probably the same legality as using the slope option on a rangefinder for a casual non-tournament round. A great way to learn the breaks on a new course. In fact, I'm not sure why this would not be legal for tournament play if it's legal to use a book with every bit of slope and break mapped out in the book like the pro caddies use. So you can use this device to make a great map of the green and you can use the map in tournament play but you can't use this device. Whatever. I can hear the purists squawking away! A great little green reading training device.

More useful than I thought
I have been looking for a better greens reading system. I am becoming a bigger fan of the aimpoint system so I decided to give this tool a try. After receiving it and being the engineer, the first thing I had to do was to test it for accuracy. It was accurate to .1 degrees, good start. I have learned that my feet can feel slope a lot better than my eye can see it so I decided to use this tool to calibrate my feet. I would stand on the slope, guess the slope based on what my feet were feeling and then check it with the Breakmaster. After I while I was getting pretty good at it.I went out to the greens and played with it and started coming up with average slope value for each putt. I then estimated the distance to the flag and using the simple formula in the Breakmaster tip book I began calculating break distances. My putting improved quite a bit. i was draining a lot more putts and getting really close outside of 20 feet.Overall, great tool, definitely will help my putting.

Nice tool to have in your golf bag when you practice
Do you want to score better? If so, putt better. It's that simple. This device helps you learn to read the breaks on the putting surface. With that insight I've been able to drops strokes off my score.I use this product two different ways: First, I'll go and play practice round at my country club on my own. While on the putting green I take a few measurements and record those reading in the "Greens Book" that came with the product. You can order extra "Greens Books" if you play more than one course regularly. Overtime, I've been able to slowly accumulate information about breaks in the greens. This method is a bit slow especially if you have golfers behind you waiting to hit into the green. The second way that I've been use this device is I actually go to the my country club before it opens and I spend about 20 minutes per green taking measurements and recording the results in "Greens Book." I'm not done mapping my home course yet but figure I will be in a couple weeks. This method lets me get a lot of readings recorded at one time.If you put time and effort in with this device you can cut a lot of strokes off your score.

Simply doesn’t work
Easy to use : turn it On and read the slope direction and amount. But no slope data is displayed on the delivered unit, only 2 dashes. Waiting for Amazon’s instructions to get a working device before returning this one from Europe free of charge.

(I am a 4 handicap) Works fantastic! After months of use
(I am a 4 handicap) Works fantastic! After months of use, I am a MUCH better green reader now. This little thing has changed the way I see/feel slope on the greens.I also have charted out the greens on my home golf course. The process really helped trained my eye. Now that I trained my eye and the slope I feel with my feet, I don't really need to refer to my yardage book anymore. I am able to trust my reads now even at new courses!I would also recommend that you get a putting mirror to help with your alignment. Those two things have dropped my average putts per round by about 2 putts. I now average 30 putts instead of 32.

Fun little tool
Fun little tool to use on the greens. It shows/points in the direction of the downhill slope and provides the level of degree of said slope. Place anywhere on the green or 1-2 feet from the hole. Teaches you how to have a better understanding of how the degree of slope effects how much break to add/subtract. All break measurements from distances provided in the manual are from a 90 Degree angle from the slope direction. You still have to factor in the speed, green conditions etc. Visit the website and check out the videos to learn how to use the device.

Practice time is essentially required to ensure you are using it correctly.
Just started using it on practice greens. Going to take several practice sessions in order to understand how to utilize it correctly.Speed of your putts is critical in determining the correct break. Still figuring out how to correctly utilize the degree of break in order to line up the putt correctly. Not as easy as just lining up and hitting the putt.
