Bore Tech Shotgun Jag, 12 Gauge

Works well to clean shotgun barrels. Fit is firm, but not excessively tight.

This jag works much better than the brass ones because the pointy tip pierces the patch effectively, keeping it from falling off until it's inserted in the barrel. The flexible sections also do a nice job of pressing the patch against the inside of the barrel and choke and removing grunge. It works well and shows no sign of wear, so it seems like it will hold up well until the nylon threads eventually give up.

I highly recommend this jag. It’s a perfect fit for my 12 gauge. Not too tight and not too loose. This jag is better than a patch with a conventional jag. Nice and tight without being overly tight.

Very useful for 12 gauge bore cleaning with Improved Modified and more open chokes. At Full choke constriction of 0.035 and tighter then tool will compress with turning but this action can (occasionally will) shear off the threaded plastic rod connection. None the less can recommend with this precaution.

I think it does a good job until I get to the fixed full choke on my Remington 1100. Then it takes Hercules to push it through. Should it be that tight?

I started out using this jag, but was afraid the little plastic tip might break, so I bought one of the metal ones. it was then I discoved the advantage of the plastic ones: the end is in sections, allowing it to flex and adopt a smaller diameter. This means it will fit through the various chokes. I have still not had a problem with the tip breaking (though it probably will, eventually), but I will keep using this kind. I also like the way the tip hangs on to the cleaning patch after it has been pushed through the barrel.

This cleaning jag works just as advertised. I hunt turkeys and my shotguns are very tightly choked!! This jag allows me to clean the barrels without having to remove the choke tubes. Love It!! 🦃
