Batteries Fit Fine.
I ordered these batteries as a replacement for my old HPB18-OPE battery from my Black and Decker Trimmer. My trimmer is about 10+ years old so I was concerned about these batteries not fitting properly as stated in many other reviews. My old battery only had 2 power prongs where as the new batteries had 3 power prongs. When I received the new batteries I tried them out right away. They did slide on pretty easy and then came to a stop not being completely installed. At that moment a thought I would also be writing a bad review. After comparing the new battery to the old battery and looking at the battery housing on the trimmer I came to the conclusion that the new battery should fit and the third power prong should not make a difference. I tried inserting the new battery again, but this time with a little more muscle, and the new battery completely installed into the trimmer. I then tested the trimmer to make sure it worked and everything was fine. To sum it up, the new batteries are a replacement for the old battery HPB18-OPE but the new batteries do take some additional effort to install than the old battery.

Excellent value and better then original
Excellent replacement battery for the 18 volt B&D yard tools. These batteries have over double the amp hour capacity of the Black&Decker batteries, Topbatt @ 3600 mah vs B&D @ 1500 mah, this gives the tool a much longer work time and power, all at roughly half the cost! They charge on my original B&D charger and I am using them on the Blower, Hedge Trimmer, and String Trimmer.Note: B&D's Lithium Ion 20 volt batteries are not compatible with the 18 volt tool line so this is this is great way to upgrade your tools performance, Wish I had found these sooner!

'Almost' Exact Fit for my B&D Trimmer
When I received these new batteries, I found that they did not slip onto my trimmer easily - they just stopped an inch short of full seating with a loud 'thunk.' I think it's because there is a third contact on the replacement battery that MAY be hanging up when it is slipped onto the trimmer. I did find that if I 'twisted' the battery when sliding it on, it would seat although it needed a lot more force than the originals did. Performance-wise, the battery is much better than the originals that came with the B&D trimmer - definitely worth the money so far. Because of the construction of my trimmer handle, it is impossible to see exactly why they hang up when being mounted, but I've figured out a way to overcome that. As long as I can use the batteries, the problem is now a moot point. I dropped one star because of the difficulty with the battery installation process.

Keeps charge
A good value. I ordered a set. One did not charge well. It was returned and replaced very quickly. I have not had any issues. I have an older very lightweight Black & Decker blower that I keep on my back porch to clear it off. The charge has kept well. This was exactly what I wanted when I ordered them! They also power my small B&D string trimmer.

Beware! Doesn't fit older Black and Decker 18 volt tools
I'm writing this hoping to save someone else a lot of trouble.I have three older Black and Decker 18 volt tools. They are the alligator lopper, the string trimmer, and the hedge trimmer. I had four batteries and two of them would no longer charge. The battery packs have a model number HPB18-OPE. The two older ones have a date code from 2010 on them and the newer ones have a date code of 2017.These batteries claim to be replacements for the HPB18-OPE, so I purchased a two pack to replace my batteries from 2010 that would no longer charge. When I received them, they would not fit on ANY of my three tools. If you look at the pictures, the new batteries have three prongs on them and the old batteries only have two. The tools only have slots for two prongs. From my research, it appears that Black and Decker added a thermistor to the newer battery packs so that the newer chargers don't overheat the batteries when charging. That is what the third prong is on the battery packs. Since my 2017 battery packs do not have the thermistor, this was done some time after 2017.So if you purchased your tools more recently, then these batteries may work for you. If you are like most people that are buying batteries because yours are old and no longer charge, they will probably NOT fit your older tools.I cannot find any battery packs that only have two prongs on them. So I ordered the adapter plate to use the 20 volt Max batteries on the older 18 volt tools. The adapter plate appears to only have two prongs. You slide it on the older 18 volt tool and then slide the newer 20 Volt Max batteries on the adapter. For those of you concerned, the 18 volt and 20 volt batteries actually have the same nominal voltages. The 20 Volt Max rates the "MAX" voltage and the older 18 Volt system rated the nominal voltage. So the 20 volt batteries will not damage your 18 volt tools. You do however need to charge them on a different charger because the 20 volt batteries are LiON instead NiCad.If you already have some of the B&D 20V Max tools, batteries, and a charger, then the adapter is the way to go. If not, you'll need to see if replacing your tools with something that still has batteries available is a better option than investing in an entire new battery system.

Works better than original equipment.
The original battery that came with the Black and Decker 8 inch chain saw was smaller capacity and only one battery. These batteries came fully charge and seem to have more lasting power plus an extra battery to get the small jobs done. The slide in fit was a little tighter but that insures a good connection. There is an extra third connection pin/terminal that is not needed. I am not sure what it is for as the original battery only has 2 pins positive and negative terminal.Very happy with this order.

These replacement batteries fit perfectly
I read several reviews that said these batteries were a snug fit or would fit with a firm hand; there were also some reviews that said they fit with no problem. I took my chances. These fit my Black & Decker Grasshog perfectly!! Nice to have 2 batteries with some longevity to them and with a smaller yard to tend these days, it works out well.
