Window film
This film is perfect.Once it is up, nobody can see in from outside night or day, lights on or off.I didnt realise that I would not be able to see out either! It lets in the light and looks great.Putting it up was time consuming but had to get it right. Its worth watching the video as I found the written instructions that come with the film did not have the tips and advice that the video gives.I washed the windows really well, and put on the soapy water with a spounge. (1 teaspoon of washing up liquid to 1 pint of water). Then I applied the window film (which was already cut to size). I left about 1/2 " all the way round. After pushing the film into place, Iused my credit card to push out all of the air bubbles and excess water. Then I trimmed the edges by pushing the film into the edge of the frame and running a razor blade carefully along the edge. Then I carried on pushing the bubbles out and making sure the film was positioned correctly. The results were good and I have the privacy I need. Well worth the money and effort.

Easy to install and effective
Used this for a ground-floor bathroom window. You really can't see through it though on the flip side it does decrease the level of daylight in the room a bit. It is easy to very install and I found the tip to use two bits of sellotape to pull apart the shiny protector film from the actual film very helpful - although it was harder to pull apart edges that I myself had cut, so if you have the option go for an edge or corner that was made by the supplier then I recommend you start there. For ease and a good finish, ensure your Stanley blade is nice and sharp. As for value, I only ordered a small amount of film so inevitably the p&p etc must be a disproportionately high amount, but the product itself is good quality, even in tone, does not tear/break easily and does not crease too easily.

Works well and easy to use
This turned out better than I thought. We had a window which is looked in on, so on Easter Sunday morning I decided to tackle the window. It took me 1.5hrs whilst taking breaks to scoff chocolate. Obviously I didn't have squeegy and used a back of a picture frame (sums up my DIY ability) . Apart from that I jjst followed the instructions. I'm so happy with this and looks great. Well worth the value and I think I have added another DIY skill

Bubbles appeared afterwards
It went on nicely and I managed to squeeze all the bubbles out but 2 days later when outside I noticed large long bubble creases had reappeared between the film and the glass which are very noticeable from the outside. Not sure why.

A flat, white window film that does a good job.
My girlfriend’s bedroom window looks out over a courtyard where children often play, so the need to frost was obvious. Admittedly, I thought this was the grainy style of frosting film where the opaqueness comes from the rough texture as opposed to a colour. I’ve used this style before and really liked the look. This is a flat, milky white however.Nonetheless, it does the job well. The film stops the ability to look in or out without effecting the level of light coming into the room.Note that the instructions aren’t lying when they say the film needs time to ‘dry out’. After about 24 hours, the film looked really blotchy (see photo) but after a few more days, it was flawless. Additionally, the instructions call for a 3mm gap around the perimeter of the film. Personally, I went for something a little wider as it makes it super easy to squeegee the water out.Either way, take your time with the application and you can obtain a really tidy finish.

Job Done!!
The reason I put this up is to stop my small dog barking at passers by!! She sits on the arm of the sofa and barks.. drives me mad. Well so far so good.Few tips .. sharp scissors, ruler, tape measure.Completely wet the window and the plastic once it’s been separated. It was tricky to separate the two sheets but masking tape or sellotape either side does the trick.Once in position and happy with end result then an old credit card and dry cloth to wipe along the plastic film, removes all air bubbles. It hasn’t blocked any light coming my room.Happy Days.

5 Year Review
I applied this film in September 2016 (5 years ago at time of review) and it hasn't peeled or degraded at all.Application/installation requires some care, especially if you have furry pets, as anything that gets in behind the film will be preserved for future generations; this is no fault of the product.A slight static attraction will develop as you handle the film, so be very careful to keep the working area free of lint, pet hair etc. The tacky backing will grab and hold anything that gets in, so work slowly and methodically to avoid pressing any detritus into the tack (so you still have a chance to pick it off).Cut the film to slightly over size before removing the protective backing (keeps the tack clean) and only uncover a small amount at the top while at the window to avoid exposing too much tack at once.I installed the film on large paned windows without assistance, but a second pair of hands could have been useful at times; the film will stay more or less in place before squeegeeing out the water (physics is phun) as long as the edges aren't allowed to curl away, so a rough placement followed by adjustment prior to squeegeeing allows a single person to apply the film with care.It is possible to accidentally tear the film while installing, so be mindful of where tearing may start and take extra care to ensure it doesn't; this is no fault of the product. If I ever need any more of this film (if I move home), I will definitely get it from the same company (Active Window Films) as this has proven itself a quality product.UPDATE: I did move and did buy more from the same company for my new home, and although they were the same frosted white, the whites were very slightly different (5 years between batches; no surprise). Be aware to not mix batches where the difference might be noticed (if that would bother you).
