Don't compare to caulk.
I bought this as a last resort when trying to seal a dishwasher installation. Now I use it for a lot of things for which I previously would have used silicone caulk. Installing glass in a bookcase frame. Sealing plywood panel in an exterior door. I will use it instead of caulk in many applications.

This stuff is strong
I had to build a custom exhaust ducting for a range hood to fit into some odd spacing. This involved attaching several pieces together. I used this sealant for the transitions and to fill in any transition gaps inside to try to reduce noise as the air from the range hood went through the duct. It is really strong stuff.A couple words of caution1) do this outside. It really does smell strong2) wear rubber gloves and long sleeves. This stuff is extremely hard to get off of your skin and especially hair in your arms.

Miss-Represented - Max Temperature 400 Degrees
I purchased this to seal a seam around a cat 3 single wall vent pipe that reaches 480 degrees around a thimble. Being this is a exterior application I was excited to find a product advertised clear rated for 500 degrees. It arrived today and clearly printed states -60 to 400 degrees. This product will not work for me, I am sure Amazon will take care of it but its a hassle sending it back.

Temperature lie (400 deg, not 500 deg -- look closely at product image)
Description on Amazon said, "Temperature range of -60 degrees Fahrenheit to 500 degrees Fahrenheit" but this is not true. On the Extreme Temp tube it says it only goes up to 400 deg, so I was disappointed because I had specifically ordered this one because of the 500 deg description.

Takes the heat and stops the leak.
I used this for sealing the joints on new flue vent assemblies and elbows for a high efficiency commercial boiler and it has performed as well as anticipated. It has gone through the heating season and appears to be holding up well with no leaks or signs of peeling or erosion. This sealant is not recommended for applications where the temperature is higher than 400 deg. F, such as flues for wood stoves or older type furnaces where a lot of heat was wasted up the flue. I also used some to form a section to replace some broken oven door gasket and it worked out. I intend to also use use it for HVAC vents and ducts.

Perfect for repairs where heat is a consideration
Exactly what we needed to fix new LED bulbs placed into recessed lights. The bulbs don’t sit quite the same as the original halogens so tended to “drop” out of the trim ring. This worked great to fix the problem as the area behind the lens of the bulb is quite hot. A couple of small dabs of this and they stay in place nicely.

Decent Product
The silicone worked well. Problem was I went to use a second tube just the other day and found that it had been used. Paid for 4 tubes, got 3 new and one empty tube. :(

Very good product
Used this to seal my wiper fluid reservoir that had been broken in a fender bender. Took several applications but it finally did the trick. A word of caution, don't get this on your clothes as it is almost impossible to get it off.
