Samsung POWERbot R9250 Robot Vacuum (Renewed)

I love this vacuum. I can not believe how much better it is than vacuuming by hand. Before the very first use my wife vacuumed very well. We then set our Samsung PowerBot R9250 (subsequently named Pete) loose to see how it compared. We were extremely surprised at how many times we had to empty the dust bin. The dust bin is actually large, but we still had to empty it 4 times in a house of only 1800 sq.ft. It is clear to me the methodical way Pete navigates through the house is the reason for such effective cleaning. Over time, the dumping frequency has reduced from 4 bin to about 1 per cleaning cycle.We did have concerns based on previous reviews about battery life and navigation. We find that on the lowest speed, Pete will complete the house on 1 charging cycle. If we want to increase the power to medium, it will take 1 additional charging cycle to finish. Pete will go as far as he can and return home to recharge, then start again. The fastest setting usually takes about 3 charging cycle to finish 1 cleaning cycle.Navigation is really good. It will get stuck in cramped spaces, but with a little adjustment of the environment, these issues can be minimized. The great thing is the connection to SmartThings allows for auto-generated text messages of Pete's status. Typical notifications are "A foreign substance is caught in the right drive wheel..." or "Returning to charger".Finally, Pete came with a remote control that allows for targeted cleaning, speed control adjustment, and a return home function. The remote control features are available in the SmartThings app, too.One final note, Pete will vary his pattern from day to day. He goes inline or angled with the walls or may do an arching pattern.Love it, love it, love it!!!

We bought ours at Best Buy. I got the extended warranty. Love it! After comparing to the Roomba it was a no brainer. This is a real vacuum cleaner unlike the Roomba. The Roomba has a very narrow brush and depends more on the brush throwing dirt and hair up into itself than vacuum, if that makes sense.The only problem so far is it will not go between the couch and the sofa for some reason. I have to use the red light to guide it.Very happy and we are thinking about buying a second one for the upstairs so we don't have to carry it up there.

I like the cleaning power of the Samsung but, in three months time, it no longer does an overall cleaning job, it just constantly turns circles in the same spot. Both drive wheels are fine, I've shut it off to let it reboot and cleaned the filters,but, it still does not work properly.It was not overworked because the only room it cleans is the living room, 3 times a week - we have a second robot vacuum sweeper for the rest of the house.It's too late to return it - by 8 days - and I'm very disappoint in this refurbished product - it was a very expense experiment.

I waited an entire year before reviewing this. I REALLY wanted to like it. Suction is great, but honestly, I would never have imagined it could be so stupid. Why won't it go straight? Only circles. It can only clean a small area since it can't go straight and get out of that area. So it'll stop vacuuming and drive around in circles for an hour, bumping into things until the battery runs out. I can't believe it still hasn't learned what to do. STRAIGHT. Just go STRAIGHT. STOP GOING IN CIRCLES. Just buy something else.

Lots of suction power. Large capacity dust bin. I have large shedding dogs and that is paramount. I had one of the round flat vacuums and this blows it away. Running it once a day and no dog hair to be found.

This is almost a great product. It has great suction and performs similar to upright. We had a problem with one of the drive wheels requiring service after approximately three months. The product was sent to repair service center (only one in US) and received it back. It worked for less than one month and developed same problem. Sent back to service center received no communication other than unit was received (July 2018). Finally after a month received communication that I had been approved for reconditioned similar model. I said that I did not want a reconditioned similar model since they had trouble fixing my unit and I had no confidence in reconditioned unit. No communication from Samsung for another month. I then called several times requesting a refund since it had taken so long and no communication from Samsung. It is now November and have heard nothing. Customer service and warranty service are very poor. Buy at your own risk. I would still like my money back on this unit. I do not want to deal with Samsung service ever again. I will never purchase any other Samsung products.

Vacuum was great until it died after three months. Contacted the company and they said they wouldn’t do anything about it. I could have paid someone to vacuum my house for less money. Buy a new one not refurbished or get a maid...
