Preheat everything to 800, then knock the temp down to 600 right before you start your first pizza. The dough recipe that comes with it is perfect as well.We turn our pizzas 180° 3-4 minutes into cooking, then remove the pizza a few minutes later.One thing we learned is that pepperoni likes to curl up toward the heat source, so if it gets too close to the burner, it WILL smoke a bit, but that’s the only time we had issues with it. It’s a learning curve on how high you can pile toppings.My kids have absolutely LOVE being able to make their own pizzas and watching them cook. I am loving figuring out how to get my pizzas a consistent shape. My husband and I have both wanted a pizza oven for so long but many years ago, they were unaffordable. We are both loving this thing. It’s lightweight until it has the stone in it, so we can store it easily, it cooks the pizzas in just a few minutes so by the time I’m done making one, the one before is either coming out or has already been out for a minute or two. The removing the pizza stone to clean is super simple because you just lift it out. You can wipe down the inside of the pizza maker itself. It makes full sized pizzas if you have the talent to do so (I’m working on it!).It’s fun, I love it.

Works as advertised

Heating element on bottom never heated up. Turned bottom to 800 degrees and turned top down to 200 since toppings were starting to burn. After 20 minutes of "cooking time", the stone was warm and once removing the it we noticed it never heated up. We then had to cook in the oven.

I've been anxious to try a stand-alone pizza oven in attempts to get that pizzeria quality from home-made pizzas. The clamshell design opens easily from the front with two temp controls on the back along with a clear view port on the cover. Electric heating elements circle both the top and bottom shells. An included and removable (for cleaning) pizza stone is the cooking surface.After a thorough pre-heat, Papa Murphy's take and bake pizzas cook unevenly, as I suspect most fresh pizzas will experience at max temp settings (800°F.) The edges burn, the dough does not rise in the 5-6 minute cook time, and the middle cheese is underdone. Experimentation is required for top and bottom temps along with cooking times to get acceptable results. I tried homemade English muffin pizzas and they cooked perfectly. Frozen pizzas cook fine at the recommended temps on the pizza box (don't place the temp controls to max) and don't use this pizza oven's recommendation to thaw the frozen pizza first (to avoid food contamination).The second issue (after the uneven cooking at max temps) is the absurdly short power cord. An extension cable will be required if the oven is placed more than 1 foot (0.3M) from an outlet.

I recently got the Granitestone Piezano Pizza Oven 14 inch, and it definitely delivers an authentic pizza experience. It heats up quickly to and cooks pizzas in 5 minutes with a crispy crust and perfectly melted mozzarella. The firebrick design is excellent, and the built-in thermometer is a useful touch for precise cooking. Excellent product for indoor use. I suggest using quality dough and ingredients to get the best results.
