Orbit - Bluetooth Key Finder

I ordered the orbit key chain and set it up for my technophobic parent who keeps losing stuff. I found it very easy to set up, but they may have struggled, so I did it for them to save the hassle. Once set up it is VERY easy to use, and they had no trouble understanding how it worked. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because my parent has high frequency hearing loss, and absolutely can not hear the alert unless it's held right up against their ear and even then it's faint for them. This was the case for all 3 of the ringtones the device can sound. I can hear the ringtones clearly from the opposite side of the backyard, or another room in the house, but they can't hear it AT ALL. I think some of the reviews (not on Amazon, but elsewhere) complaining that it is not "loud" enough are actually struggling with hearing the specific frequency. For people with high frequency hearing loss, it seems to be kind of like that "mosquito ringtone" that was popular a few years ago because teenagers could hear it but their teachers couldn't. My parent can still use the device/app by checking the map to make sure the orbit is nearby, and then using the map and the green signal strength ring displayed in the app to see if they're getting closer or farther from the orbit. The fact that the orbit flashes also helps, as once you get close you can see the blue flashing light if it is dark enough outside/in the room. Alternatively, they can just ask someone with unimpaired hearing to track down the missing orbit because it works fine for us!Update 9/17/18: Like many reviewers have written, the initial battery died right away, after about a week or two. That's ok, because it comes with a replacement, so if the replacement lasts the full 6 months it is supposed to then we'll still be happy. My parent hasn't noticed the phone battery needing charging more often because the app is always on, which some other reviewers complained about.Update 1/18/19: The second battery didn't last either, so the unit itself was defective. We exchanged for a new one which has been going strong for 4 months now with no battery issues.

Have gone through 4 of them between myself and my oldest. Tracking keys is awesome, does its job, however when the battery dies, and you want to replace the battery with news ones...at least our 4 have been lemons because with the battery changes, and purchasing new batteries because the ones that came in extra didn’t work....we had to throw them away and order our #5&6 within the last 12 months... The card is awesome, works great and comes with a charger!

came with 2 batteries... went through both in a matter of a week. even bought new batteries thinking it just came with some old ones but those didn't last either. returned the item for my money back.

I LOVE my Orbit. My favorite feature is the phone finder. I often set my phone down in random places throughout the house and don't think about it until I need to leave. I always seem to end up forgetting where I put it and calling it is no help because it is on silent the majority of the time. Thankfully my Orbit allows me to find my phone is a timely manner because of the alarm that will sound when I am trying to find my phone.I also really like the design and simplicity of Orbit. It isn't large or annoying while on my keychain.

I bought this as a swap gift, but it turned out people already had one! So I guess they are appreciated and help find your keys or phone.

Doesn't work as well as I thought it would. Have already replaced batteries.

I can only locate my keys from my phone, not my keys to my phone. About a month later, I actually needed to find my phone, and it did not work. Just missed the return period (which is way too short). It worked when we set it up, and we tried everything to get it running again.

The battery beeped that it was dying 3 day after my husband opened it for Christmas. If we get another battery that lasts long, I’ll definitly change my review. But 3 days is unacceptable even for a cheap battery.
