Easy to program
Yardeen Electronic 2-Outlet Hose Water Timer Waterproof Programmable Garden Yard Sprinkler Timer Automatic Valve Red. Spring is here and I am running drip lines. This Yardeen timer has been very easy to set. Pick your time, station and duration and no more hand watering. I like the cover on the face. Even though it is made for outdoors, the cover protects it from sun and water making it last longer. It is strong and feels like it will hold up well. Just set, screw to you faucet and add your hoses.

Good, Compact Timer
Note: It’s on military time! Apparently, the cause of many issues in the reviews. My experience is this is a very simple, mobile and handy water timer. I like the battery operated feature in that I can have it anywhere in the yard without having to wire any electricity in. The power readout on the screen (the entire screen, for that fact) is easy to read. Programming was simple, although it always defaults to the left valve when you switch thru the steps in programming the right one. Set the time (1 pm = 13… no need to deal with any am/pm confusion). Twist knob to [Start Time] and enter it using the [+] or [-] buttons (again, heeding your teens and twenties ~ and whether you’re programming the left or right cycle. Press the lower [L/R] button to change before completing that step), turn knob to next offering [How Long]. I could program from 1 minute up to …. however long I wanted (again, confirm the left or right system). Turn knob to [How Often]: Prompts you in “every” X days (“every” flashes on screen). I programmed for 1 day (= daily) up to 7 days (once a week). Turn knob back to [Run] and your programming for that cycle is set. No [Enter] button needed! Face of clock will show current time, then flash “next start” for left, go back to current time, then flash “next start” for right system, continuously. If I need immediate watering, I can press the [ 👆 ] button and select which system I want, it will prompt me for how many minutes (which I enter) and within a minute, the system will click on for the desired time. No change to the two independent programs has occurred. (I guess I could have put this on video, but it would have been just as long… ) Additional items to note: * It can only run one cycle at a time. Why I tried for both at overlapping times? Just wanted to play devil’s advocate 👿. * The manual says do not use on outlet end of ‘Y’ connectors. That seemed illogical to me. In my photos, you’ll see that’s exactly what I’ve done. And, it works fine. Just silly me has to remember to keep the valve to the timer open (as one would with any direct bibb connection) after I’m finished using the other Y spout to fill a watering can... * Finally, I just went out to get my Yardeen unit to double check the features, and noticed water had gotten under the closed panel after an inch of rain last night. Their photos show that rain directly on the screen is no issue, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it if water continues to sit under a close flap. * All else fails: Keep the unit always on [Run]. If you have extended rain & don't want to constantly postpone due to the uncertainty of the weather speculators, then turn it to [Off]. All programming should remain intact, as long as the battery power is available. All in all: I really like this unit. I think it’s a good sized, convenient and well performing unit that will spare me a lot of time.

Now I can program and control the water in my front and back yard.
A durable timer to control the water flow in my front and back yards. Only took minutes to install and able to seal both outlets to prevent leakage which can cost me money.

Defective
The timer was defective, set start time for 0100 and it would come on at 1300. Got a replacement and it did the same thing. Contacted Yardeen and they determined that the 24 hour clock was not programmed correctly at the factory. Don't buy this timer.

Not useful with sprinklers, effectively a 12-hour clock
This is probably not very useful as part of a sprinkler system. It lets me set the clock as 24 hours, so I would assume it allows 24 hour frequencies--but it does not appear so. The frequencies are "every 1, 2, 4, 12 hours or 1-7 days". The hours are a little too much...if I'm watering at 10pm, I don't want it running again at 10am. And I'm certainly not going to run the sprinklers every 4 hours or less... I'm not sure if the 24 hour timer (1 day) works correctly. It seems to still follow the 12 hour timer frequency. I haven't tried setting it to every 2+ days... It's mostly plastic, but seems sturdy enough for garden use. Seals against the hose ok, I ended up using teflon tape on it even though it's probably not necessary. I can't speak to how well it handles being outside in the weather and exposed to temperature changes over time.

Impossible Directions but worked!
This hose timer only took minutes to install, but it took forever to figure out the programming. I wonder if I even got it figured out. The instructions could be more helpful. I love having the 2 outlets. One for the pool and one for the yard. The timer is set in military time which I could see would cause a dilemma for some buyers. Not sure I would recommend to other buyers,
