Great strap wrench. Prefer this design
This is an outstanding wrench. I was less familiar with Reed than Ridgid as I'm not from the plumbing and fire protection trades. But I went with this b/c I liked the solid metal head (Ridgid uses a pin to hold strap, this uses a very snug and heavy duty metal insert). Also liked the ergonomics and grip. Plus the option for changing the strap configuration for both thick / heavy and thin wall / lighter tubes and pipes is convenient. You can tighten some galvanized steel, reconfigure, and go tighten the sleeve behind your bath knob in your shower, all with this guy!You probably can't go wrong either way, but make no mistake: this is a GREAT wrench.Everyone who lives in a house or dealer with any round object that they don't want to damage with the teeth of a Channellock or a pipe wrench should add one of these. You can even use them to change the oil filter on your car. Granted this one's a tad long, but you can probably slip it in there for the final turn. I actually bought so I didn't have to scratch the steering adjustment rods and other round pipe like rods on cars and trucks. Finally, you'll be impressed with how much torque and leverage these wrenches put out. It's physics, yes, but still frankly quite amazing.

Souplda bopught a cheap tool imported from overseas
The tool came coated in a waxy substance. I assume to protect the cast iron from rusting. The strap was pretty well covered with it too. Well, it also serves a LUBRICANT.Guess what? If you are trying to hold a big smooth pipe (or scuba cylinder in this case) THE WAXY LUBRICANT IT CAME COATED IN KEEPS IT FROM HOLDING THE TUBE! I think it's gonna go back and I will head to Horrible Fright or Netheren Tookus and get something that will actually work to hold a cylinder..

Not what I expected
Not sure why I pictured this being smaller and just different in some way. I was looking to replace a smaller cheaper version that broke. I found this as a used amazon warehouse deal at half the normal price so I decided to try it but returned when I realized this is a beast of a tool. I guess the "1/8" in the description had me thinking more compact. I'm going to leave this at 5 stars because it's built like a tank and I'm sure if you actually need this tool, it's going to hold up well. Just wasn't what I needed, but that's nothing against it. A plumber would likely love and/or need this tool.

Best strap wrench I have ever seen
The strap has some kind of coating or resin that makes it grip better butt doesn't leave a mar or residue. The only issue I had was once I had it on the flywheel of my 1954 JW Evinrude and I didn't have it on right and it slipped off, my body went forward, and somehow the strap went off the flywheel and around my sack and I twisted my nads. Other than that one time it's been great.

good irrigation repair tool
Worked well for 4 and 6 inch pvc compression fittings.

Does what it’s supposed to do.
I bought it to unscrew a jammed total home water filter system housing. My regular wrench provided by manufacturer didn’t work this time! I was able to open the filter on the first try. Wrench is very well built and does what it’s supposed to do.

Doesn't work
This simply does not work. Followed the instruction sheet and even watched a video on proper use. The Nylon strap just slips and does not grab.

WELL BUILT TOOL.
Used it to change the filters on a whole house two stage water filtration system. The plastic wrench that came with the system broke in two separate pieces. Very handy.

Great strap wrench, but heavy.
Is a good strap wrench, does what it says it does quite well. Only negative is that it is quite heavy.
