HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 120W, Black

I bought this to hook up my Windows 10 work laptop (HP Elitebook) to a couple of monitors, headphones and a wired internet connection. Once we are back working from the office it will save faffing about disconnecting/reconnecting everything as I split time between office and home. Dead easy to set up and works as it should, I have not had any of the issues mentioned in some of the negative reviews and would recommend. That said I do agree that the on/off switch - which is basically the top of the unit-is poorly thought out and the G5 is a better option (and cheaper) if you can find one and don't need the thunderbolt port.I bought mine from Amazon warehouse, which I initially had reservations about, but the unit was well packaged, contained all manufacturer paperwork and was in new condition. Although there is no manufacturer warranty the Amazon Warehouse warranty is just as comprehensive, which was was a dealbreaker for me

I have a work laptop and every time I want to move from my desk to the sofa or the bench I have to unplug loads of cables. This I can charge, have the external monitor 4k and external camera, external speakers and mic; all through one cable. I love it and unlike the numerous nobrand docking station it just works. Not cheap but worth it.

This is a great item for tidying up the desk and making for a quick getaway when taking laptop to a meeting, but I was disappointed there was no UK plug supplied for a uk purchase. It comes with the two pin rounded plug so now I need to go buy an adapter :(Also when I first plugged in my second (Dell VGA) display it would not extend and so I went to the HP site and used their robot help. The help was surprisingly good and I had my monitor extended in not time.

Love this product. I have it running my 2019 macbook pro and connecting my 4k monitor as a second screen.Absolutely seamless functionality and a plenty of connectivity ports!I also bough the optional HP Audio Module that replaces the lid on the dock with a superb audio conferencing speaker/ mic, again controlled via my macbook using Teams, Zoom and general audio.

Worked fine initially, then display output stopped working conveniently around the time the "return window" closed; removing return option after such a short time is questionable under UK law anyway.

Bought this as I wanted to run 2 additional screens from my laptop. Add a dual monitor arm mount and a couple of HDMI to display port cables and it’s the perfect combination. It even charges the laptop so there are fewer cables on the desk.

I'm using the latest gen HP Spectre X360, I was already unimpressed with HP docks after buying the USB-C dock G5 and having to return it as it would not work at all with my USB-C monitor. I then purchased this more expensive Thunderbolt Dock G2. I was happy at first as my USB-C monitor worked out of the box. That happiness lasted until I went and made a coffee, then came back to discover once my laptop screen goes to sleep the external monitor will not wake up again unless I disconnect and re-connect the entire dock!I have read countless solutions to this problem online and the one thing apparent in all of them is that there is no solution! I am not returning the dock as I use my laptop and monitor side by side so I can live with disconnecting and reconnecting every time I step away and will hope that HP come up with a solution soon but I wont hold my breath. Expensive laptop and expensive dock yet the fundamentals don't work - come on HP!Edited to add that the dock has a built in fan which seems to turn on or speed up randomly even when the laptop is switched off. Since I have this in a bedroom it's slightly annoying but it's not loud enough to stop sleep.Edited again as I have changed from a USB-C 4k monitor to a DisplayPort 2k monitor and the issue with the monitor not waking up with the laptop persists, therefore this definitely seems to be a problem with the dock.

Great accessory for HP ProBook 430/440 G6’s, very handy for hot desks. My users just need to plug in one cable and they have access to power, network, dual external monitors, fixed wire network, and keyboard and mouse.
