I have been beating on these shoes for 2 years now and they are still going strong. I haven't had a shoe last me 1 year let alone 2 years in a very long time. I use them for heavy yard work, good weather hunting and everyday use. Replaced the insole with some Dr Scholes after the originals wore out. I spent less than $100 back then and now they are $170, wow. I will wait until the price drops before I purchase my backups but if I needed some ASAP, they are worth the money.

I hike a lot, for both work and for fun. These shoes are my everyday shoes that I wear throughout the year on hiking trips, backpacking trips, easy rock climbing, mountain biking, etc. I get a solid year out of them. By the end of twelve months the soles start wearing thing and I buy a new pair of the exact same shoes. I've been buying a new pair of these every July or August for about 10 years. I usually buy them at Bob's Stores, which have now closed. Fortunately, I found them here on Amazon and bought the exact size and model that I always get. I was nervous about not being able to try them on and see them in person, but they are exactly what I wanted and the exact fit. I'll buy another pair here next year.

I have had these boots for 2 years now and have taken them on many hikes and a few backpacking trips. They are comfy, not too heavy, and provide a small amount of ankle support but will not completely stop you from rolling an ankle. At times they seem a little warm but was not a problem for me. The reason I give them 3 stars is because they are not waterproof. I paid extra for waterproof so I could walk through wet grass or shallow creeks and not get wet feet. At first it was a very slight leak and I decided no big deal, but now it stops nothing from soaking my socks. I guess nothing is truely waterproof these days so save your money and get the regular ones.
