My Turkish husband uses a double boiler stainless steel teapot and adds cold water to the lower teapot. Don’t fill above the spout so air can escape during the boil. The top pot will have just half inch of water and 2 heaping tablespoons of the loose tea. Bring the double boiler to boil. When you see steam abundantly escaping use the boiled water from the bottom pot to fill the top pot just to the spout so air can escape. Add cold water to the bottom pot and return to boil. Then turn on low heat just keeping warm. The tea ‘rests’ 2-5 minutes before pouring. You will need a tea strainer over your cup to pour infused tea from the top pot into your cup just one fourth to one third full. Then fill remainder of your cup with boiled water from the bottom pot. Beautiful Turkish tea concentrate will appear as reddish brown liquid and lightens when you add boiled water. If you enjoy sweetener you may add.
