Okay, but not great, avoid full price...revised: not good do not bother with
Update after using a few more days :I swapped to using the aux connection rather than the optical and that stabilized the volume level when changing channels or steaming services removing one of the main advantages of these head phones. Also the sound started cutting in and out enough to be annoying. I finally decided to ditch these head phones and just use regular headphones with a long cable for now. Revised summery: Pure crap do not purchase.Original review:My experience with these headphones is with a brand new Hisense 40" Roku TV, using both streaming (Misc free channels, along with Amazon, Disney+ and Paramount+) and over the air (antenna) TV. I purchased them from AMAZON warehouse "used, like new". I used the optical cable connection. Positive: paying less than $20.00 for them, they basically work, head phone battery life has not been an issue, they seem to work better with streaming. the head phones feel fine on my fat head. Set up was easy. Not positive: With over the air TV each channel change requires unplugging and re-powering the transmitter every time to stop static or lack of sound (the on/off button on the transmitter seems to do nothing). Each time the ear phones are turned off and on, the volume must be reset to desired level, by going to volume cut out (minimum) then back up to desired level. The volume control is glitchy the minimum volume is almost too loud for me on some channels, and streaming services. Each new service or show requires a volume adjustment. I sense no active noise cancellation. The controls feel very cheap and fragile.Summery: good enough if purchased for less than $20, useful as a proof of concept wireless headset prior to purchasing a better more expensive pair. Do not pay the full fifty something dollars for these is my recommendation.

Love them!
The shipping time was great as usual. Once unboxed I plugged the headset and transmitter in to charge. After a couple of hours the headset light went off indicating a full charge. The transmitter did not go off. It was my fault though. This transmitter does not have a battery even though the power jack on my unit says "Charge". So this setup is not "portable" like some others. That is fine in my case because I am using it on a wall mounted tv. After connecting it to the tv with the supplied optical cable, I tried them out. The audio was choppy and more out than on. I replaced the supplied optical cable with one from my patch cord box and fell in love. Good dynamic range and tone quality for music as well as streaming tv. I also find that after straightening the headband they fit firmly but comfortably on my noggin.

They're okay, but look for a better option.
Mine worked for almost a year and a half, but the charging bay broke and I can't charge them anymore. I disassembled them, but not sure how to reconnect the bay to the motherboard in a way that would actually cause it to work again. So, adios headphones. While they were working, there were two downsides:1. There's a blue light that won't shut off on the left side. It's very annoying in a dark room.2. The lowest volume is still pretty loud.Other than that, they worked, but I'm using a different brand now (standard bluetooth headphones).

A little difficult understanding hookups.
It was a little confusing on the instructions to hook it up, but once I figured it out it was easy. The sound is very good in both ears and it's nice that you can turn the volume up or down, or ven mute the TV and still have sound in the earphones. It blocks out surrounding sound pretty good too. I got them for my boyfriend and he loves them.

Perfect for my hearing
My wife doesn't like to listen to my Arab movies so I put these on and can watch whatever. They don't take long to recharge and not like other headphones I have, they don't deteriorate from my head and the heat in Florida.

Junk!! Cheaply made.
I expected more from a Sharper Image product. Maybe the reason most of their stores closed up shop, was because they break too easily. I used to use these headphones every night watching TV, so as to not disturb my wife while she slept. However after about only 3 months of usage, the clip that is screwed on to hold the clip to the head size adjustment slide came off (broke). I attempted to reattach it by screwing it back into place. I problem is that if you are able to zoom in close enough on the picture, you will see that the screws are held in place by a cheap piece of plastic. Metal screws held in place by a piece of plastic, NEVER last very long. I can not in good conscience recommend these. The supposed noise canceling only covers up noise by the obvious “hiss” sound of radio frequency. The only way the hiss sound was absent was to not be anywhere near a wall. It appears that any wall that has an electrical outlet, I couldn’t be near it. So if you plan on sitting in the middle of the room whilst utilizing the headphones, then they worked okay. I’ve owned several radio frequency headphones and although there was some minor feedback heard, none of my other headphones were as bad as these are. On my particular TV (Hisense Roku TV), I had to mute or turn the volume of the TV all the way down to zero so that the TV speakers would be silenced. I’m sure it would be that way on many, if not all the TV’s. I always keep all boxing and manuals and such for at least one year, since that is usually the warranty length. I went to find the warranty card with the information and noticed that the was no such card or information with the headphones. There is the “quick start” card and the owners manual. Neither one had any warranty information on them anywhere. I could have reached out to the seller here on Amazon, but for the price I paid, I figured it would not be worth the hassle. As the old saying goes, “emptor caveat” (let the buyer beware).
