Waste of $$
This radio has no power, you can only hear scratching and an occasional signal. Bought this to communicate with others, but doubtful that it will ever work. Save your money.

Be sure you know what MURS means before buying this
Before buying this, make sure you understand that it's a MURS radio. This is not a CB. Nor is it the Family Radio Service radio you get in most stores even though it looks exactly like one, or the more commercial GMRS radio, or a Marine or Aircraft radio, or indeed a Ham radio. And it won't interoperate with any of those, only with MURS radios. MURS radios have their own channels, separate from all of those other sorts of radios.MURS is the correct service to choose for unlicensed use in a business. FRS is also usable in a business. MURS has higher power (2 watts) than FRS (1/2 Watt) but FRS has a higher frequency that may work better inside of a building. Here are what you use the others for:* CB: was once for talking with people in your neighborhood, now you are at least as likely to find a raving nutcase as someone you'd want to talk with.* FRS: family or group communications, business use permitted with no license.* GMRS: licensed business or personal communications, $85 license.* Maritime Radio Service: Talking with boats, services on the shore, and the Coast Guard.* Aviation Radio Service: Talking with the control tower and between aircraft. Big consequences for using this if you don't belong on it, don't try it.* Ham: talking with folks in your city or around the world, requires some studying and a test, the test is harder if you want international range. No more Morse code test!

Read a poor review and just don't get it
Read a poor review and just don't get it.We purchased several of these radios instead of an expensive multi-line phone service for our business that has several offices and multiple materials yards....worked like charm.Signal was great through walls up to 3/4 mile away.Durable and easy to operate. Highly recommend.
