All of the arcade fun without the quarters
This is a bona fide arcade cabinet made with plywood (no particle board nonsense here). It's not a Chinese knock-off of pirated games, which is a lot of what you'll find online. Unlike some of the original machines, it will retain high scores when you power it off. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga would be worth it alone to me. There's a lot more joy in playing when death to the little yellow guy doesn't feel like 25 cents lost. Unfortunately, I have to take issue with a few things. First, the fridge at best cools to about 50 degrees, as it's a cheap thermoelectric type. My first one only got down to 60, and the replacement Namco sent (at the request of the seller) didn't hit the 44 that the manual says it should. The graphic label on the control surface is all wrinkled in the corners from the screws. The screen doesn't fit within the window, so the top lines are obstructed, and there is no adjustment to compensate for it. I emailed Namco US and they didn't care enough to respond. If Namco wants to be in the business of selling stuff to consumers, they need to do better.
