As a sailboat owner who also races, I've tried a variety of cloth tapes (including Gaffer's tape). This has to be the best duct tape I've ever tried. The cloth tape is strong and flexible, and doesn't easily tear accidentally. The adhesive is strong and doesn't leave a residue even after the tape has been exposed to the sun and weather for over a year. It holds well even when repeatedly dunked in seawater. The only negative is that it can be difficult to find and it is usually more expensive than other cloth tape (except Gaffer's tape).Edit (11/26/2017): I have been using this duct tape over 12 years now. It still performs well with regards to adhesive strength and durability. I use it it many non-sailing applications. I've had duct tape on items over 7 years, and it still removes easily without residue. And the tape does not seem to age much. The negative is still the same as my 2008 review above: it is more expensive than other tapes, but worth it if you need it.

I use this at work on my CNC machine. A 4' x 8' MDF board is held to the machine table with vacuum. This is how the parts are held on the machine. Without this tape, everything would be moving all over the place. It withstands just about everything and keeps the board tightly in place.This is a great product. That's why I keep coming back for more.

This is professional grade tape - you cannot buy this at the hardware store. I had some foam insulation sheets in the greenhouse that hardware store 3m brand tape wouldn't hold. I had an old roll of this and it worked great. I used it up and bought more - I'll never buy any other duct tape ever again!

The 3M Duct tape, that I received, has a manufacturing date of January 2017. That means, it's now, 12/2018, almost 2 years old.3M recommends "to obtain best performance, use this product within 18 months from date of manufacture."

It doesn't give up at high temperatures, and releases cleanly when you go to take it off.

Great product. Color match was perfect. Used it to repair dings in my siding and you cannot even tell my home is duct taped. Ha!

This stuff is great. No residue left behind. UV resistant. I've taken it off a boat a year later and been happy to see no marks left behind. Great for sealing the transom bailing flaps on my sailboat.

Very good duct tape. I've used it a lot and it has never left a residue on anything. It's got a very nice usable thickness: thick enough to be very strong but still able to bend into tight corners. While it is a little more expensive, it's worth it to me knowing that I won't have to scrub off the residue no matter where I use it, also it a very long roll so it lasts a while.

Dopo aver speso soldi in ferramenta, nei vari brico, dovunque... Cercando un nastro che sigillasse, se non altro provvisoriamente, un problema di infiltrazioni da un tettuccio di un auto... Ecco che leggo varie recensioni su questo nastro e mi fido. E le mie attese sono state soddisfatte...ottima adesione ed impermeabilità. Grazie

Warum habe ich so etwas nicht schon viel früher gekannt? Ein ganz tolles Produkt mit unendlich vielen Anwendungen. Sehr gute Qualität. Kaufempfehlung 'hoch 3`.

Viele ausprobiert. Dies ist für mich das beste. Klebt fast überall. Ist wasserdicht und robust.Gibt es leider nur in blaugrau.

Keine Kleberückstände bei vernünftiger Klebekraft. Lässt sich hervorragend verarbeiten.
