Soft and warm
I realize that some people pass these up because of the price. I also realize I could buy regular cotton thermals for a lot less money but nothing beats a good pair of thermals. When I take my kid hunting and ice fishing I want him to stay as warm as possible without sweating. Nothing is worse then hiking to a hunting spot and sitting down and getting cold because my kid or myself broke a sweat on the hike out because we had to many base layers on or base layers that were all wrong. I learned very fast that merino wool socks keep my feet dry and warm and the merino thermal underlayment was just as good and if I didn't cheap out and buy a mixed material I would find these things just as good for my son. He is 8 years old and these things are the best! We have went ice fishing and he never complained about being cold. We sat on an all day deer hunt and he didn't complain once about being cold. The material is lightweight but keeps him warm and dry. They fit him perfectly. I am very happy with the purchase!

Soft and warm
Bought these for my kids for skiing in Utah this winter. These have been a fantastic base layer. Kids large is true to size - fits my 8 year old who typically wears kids large / xl from target. The fabric is soft (we haven’t washed yet). These have been warm enough for temps from single digits to 30s, with ski pants & coat on top. Definitely would buy again for this price.

Long legs and see through
Right now I’m disappointed with the sizing. Who knows? Maybe kids in Canada have super long legs, but my 13 yo has a 28” inseam so these bunch up around her ankles. Its not going to bother her, unless she skiing, which is the main reason I purchased these. Also, the yellow color is see through, so I guess these won’t be able to function as pajamas either. Grrrr.

You cannot believe how warm it is
We are walking in the park with the baby and take her hand. OMG, the hand is hot. She has a fever! No, no fever. Just this underwear is so warm that is warmer than the winter jacket she has

You want my hat. You can’t have my hat. You have to get your own hat.
I opened this a little while ago, just before I went to bed. I’m still wearing the hat in bed, and the bonus socks. Someone said they wouldn’t necessarily suggest this for an Alaskan winter. Having been through an elegant sufficiency of the same, I feel qualified to address this.Staying warm in the winter is about layers and staying dry. If you have one garment that is going to keep you warm enough in the coldest of weather, it’s going to be too hot for most of the weather that you’ll encounter. But if you layer up sufficiently you can fine tune the clothing to suit nearly any conditions. And a lot of of the marginally comfortable conditions one encounters can even be indoors.I received this hat, and the warmly received bonus socks, as a vine review item. I am currently shopping on the merino.tech page for a gaiter for my perpetually cold nose, and a set of their thickest long underwear.Minor quibble: they make boxer shorts for men. If they are under the impression that women do not get cold bums, their market research is falling short. In the time it took to write this review, my toes have warmed up and my head is also comfortably warm. (did i mention how soft these are? They are so soft.) however, just about everything between my new hat and socks is chilly. I’m about to put in an order to rectify that. The longjohns come in a variety of cutesy colors, and I’m going straight for the 320 weight. Winter is here and I am ready for the wool. Also, there’s a nice savings by buying as a set, and these prices are really reasonable. Being warm is a game changer.ETA: I just ordered three sets of their longjohns, a gaiter, and four pairs of socks. Looking forward to a more comfortable winter.
