I'm shocked. Far exceeded expectations.
I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a blade snob.Whether it's a knife, an axe, razor, scissors, machete - whatever. I'm a snob when it comes to blades. I've always been this way and I make not apology for it.That said, I have very, very low expectations of this item when I ordered it to try.I find myself pretty impressed with this unit. The blade, while clamped into the resin handle rather than attached in a more traditional manner, it's thick and sturdy. It's held in with four screws, and I haven't tried abusing it at all. I'm going to give it some test throwing, as well, to see how it throws and how it handles that sort of action.I was impressed by how sharp the edge is, though it is a small edge. I used it to trim some smaller branches of an Ash tree outside of my house. It sliced through branches up to about a half inch in diameter as if they weren't even there, and made pretty quick work of a few larger (1-inch to 3-inch) branches as well.Because of the flat blade, it doesn't have much of a poll to drive or balance it (the balance being accomplished by the rope-cutting edge), so it doesn't build a whole lot of kinetic energy in a swing. This results in a bit shallower of a bite because there's just not enough energy to drive deeper. Of course, it's a hatchet and generally not gonna be used for felling, but I still like a good heft to my axes.Despite the negative features, this product is one that I'm going to be keeping handy in my truck. I see a lot of camping trips where this will prove itself to be quite handy.

very nice
very nice. well made. very strong. sharp out of the box light enough to carry without being heavy. the only mark against it is the sheath. it feels like a cheap nylon and the belt loops are uneven so it wont ride very well.

High quality at a phenomenal price
This axe is so much better than I anticipated. It is built very well, the handle is rigid and the axe head is secured to the handle with four machine hex screws that have blue loctite applied from the factory. There is zero wobble or play between the handle and axe head. This axe is incredibly light weighing exactly 1 pound with the sheath and 14.3 Oz without. The light weight makes it easy to swing. I feel as if I could swing this axe all day without tiring. The grip is made out of a solid piece of rubber that gives you a confident hold of the handle even when wet. The axe from the factory is as sharp as I would want an axe to be. I split a dozen small 3 to 4in diameter logs, cut down a few saplings and did some whittling with no visible wear to the edge. The finger cutout gives you a comfortable grip for more precise tasks. The bark stripper is sharp and does a great job of removing bark from small branches for when you want to make skewers or just a pointed stick to roast marshmallows. Overall I am really impressed with the quality and durability of this little axe. Its going to see a lot of use with me and I'm confident it will handle everything I throw at it. The price of this axe is phenomenal. This is one of those rare occasions where you actually get more than what you paid for.

ok
This hatchet is ok. I don't think I would take it out for any serious use camping or backpacking, but it makes a great tool to keep by the smoker for splitting small wood chunks when needed. It's just not made very sturdy, the head is cross-bolted to the plastic handle, so I imagine any heavy use would quickly wear it out. Since this isn't a head with an eye or other common mounting style, you can't just go to the hardwear store and get a new handle. The sheath also doesn't do a great job of keeping the edge covered either. All that being said, the price is about right for what you get.

The axe is great. The sheath is not.
The axe came nice and sharp, has good weight to it, and the handle has good grip. However, I hate the way the sheath was made. You have to slide it down the entire shaft to remove it, and slide it all the way up to put it back on. Mine also arrived with one of the snap buttons broken so it doesn’t secure properly. If you use your own sheath, or not one at all, you’ll appreciate this axe.

My Outdoor Companion
This camping axe and survival hatchet has quickly become my go-to outdoor companion. The build quality is dependable, offering features that truly enhance its functionality. Like a non-slip handle, hex wrench slots, finger grooves, and an integrated bark separator blade. It’s lightweight yet razor sharp, making it ideal for a wide range of tasks related to camping, hiking, and basic outdoor survival. Handling the axe feels comfortable and secure, and it comes with a rugged sheath that includes belt loops for easy hip carry. Despite its affordable price, this axe is anything but cheaply made. In fact, I own three other axes that cost significantly more, and I’d still choose this one over them any day. It delivers exceptional value and performance, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, versatile tool for the outdoors.

Love it
Good little hatchet, only complaint is the sleeve that goes over the blade is either made wrong or just weird. Unsheathing the axe was odd so I just flipped it around. Strong axe though sharp, good weight and balance to it.
