Just what I needed
I recently purchased this unit to replace an older HAI thermostat that was designed for single stage / conventional HVAC systems. I had a heat pump unit put in, and I needed it to take care of the dual stage heating / single stage cooling, and also the humidifier that I had installed. As expected with other HAI equipment that I owned, it was easy to install, and worked immediately. It has all the standard heat pump options, and is a bonus in that it handles the humidity settings as well. I don't have a central dehumidifier, but if so, it would also be wired in. The HVAC installer was thoroughly confused that I had my own thermostat and knew how to wire it. I actually installed a passive wiring block in the basement near the furnace and told the installer to simply interface into the bottom of the block. Once I showed him that I could walk over to my alarm panel touch pad and turn on the AC and then shut it off and turn on the furnace, his eyes lit up. I love the proximity sensor built into the front of the unit which saves me from having to push a button to turn the backlight on, and it's much better than the older model which had no backlight. The unit is solid, easy to wire, and if you're used to the way HAI writes their manuals, you'll have no problem understanding. The manual shows many different variations of how to wire in the thermostat depending on what type of system is being used. It even handles zoned control which I may look into soon. Quite impressed, and I would buy it again.

It works just fine!
I installed it to my Omni II Pro and it works just fine. While it was configuring itself to the Omni the screen went blank. I powered it off and the Omni off and repowered them both back on and it is working fine. There are adjustments that must be done on the thermostat to customize it to work properly. This was a replacement for my old RC-2000 that stopped the temperature from being remote controlled. The RC-2000 lasted over 8 years.

Doesn't work properly with dual fuel heat pumps
I have 3 thermostats hooked up to two dual fuel heat pumps and a single two stage heat pump. These units are hooked up to a Omni Pro II security system. These units are pretty out of date and over priced. I bought these to hook to the Omni Pro II and didn't think I had many options. I was not able to get accurate outside temperatures from the sensors that the HVAC person installed, so had to use the HAI temp/humidity sensor I had connected to the Omni Pro II. It turns out that when no outdoor sensor is configured and your connected to a Omni Pro II, the unit will take the outdoor temperature from that. That is not documented in the manuals and very helpful. Not sure if the issue with the HVAC sensors is the sensor of the RC-2000.The main issue is that the program schedule does not properly work with the dual fuel heat pumps. HAI is aware of the problem but don't know how to fix it. The heat does not come on in the morning if the dual fuel needs to kick on (as best as I've been able to diagnose for HAI). The desired temp can be 68 and the temp can be 62, and the unit will not call for heat. We set our temp at night to 62 and 68 during the morning/evening. When it gets cold and the temp in the house drops at night, the program schedule will not kick on the temperature properly in the morning or in the evening. We have attempted to program the Omni Pro II to override the heat point 15 minutes prior to the program schedule time so the house is closer to the desired heat set point, but that doesn't seem to get us 68 degrees when we wake up. You have to manually set the temperature (even one degree colder) and only then does the dual fuel heat pump kick on. So you wake up freezing, look at the thermostat which is set to a desired heat point of 68 and an inside temp of 62. You manually set it down to 67 and the heat immediately comes on. Since we lower the temp back down during the day, we have this issue twice during each day. We don't have this issue with the thermostat hooked up to the two stage heat pump.HAI tech support has been responsive, but not very helpful. We have taken pictures of our wiring, listed our configuration in detail, tried their experiments, and not gotten anywhere. They appear to have finally just dropped the problem and have not heard back from them. Looking on the internet, it appears others have been complaining about this problem from years ago, so HAI has known about this problem for years and not fixed it.Would not recommend this product. If your connecting to an Omni Pro II, use another technology (Z-Wave or something else) which allows you to buy a better and cheaper thermostat.

Exactly the right part for the job
I purchased 4 of these for our home this year because we converted our HVAC system to Geothermal and we have an HAI Omni II Pro home automation system. This thermostat was a perfect fit for the more advanced control that the system required and it blended seamlessly with the Omni. The only reason that I did not rate it 5 stars is that one of the four failed after a few weeks and had to be replaced - well handled by Amazon.Be aware that 8 wires are needed for the thermostat functions and a data wire is needed for the home auto connections. We had to run new thermostat wire to complete the upgrade.I like the motion detector feature that illuminates the easy to read display and the adjustability of the display. My wife thinks the thermostat looks a bit too mod for a traditional decor. It comes pre-programed with an energy saving schedule - wish I could turn that off and have it just listen to the home controller since I do our programing there. It was not hard to change it and copy the program for all days of the week. The price on Amazon was much better than I could find elsewhere. The Geo installer had not used this thermostat before but he said it was a good one and easy to set up for our advanced system. The humidity control was another feature that we wanted and it works quite well.

A great idea and it works really well
This solves a huge problem at my office where we have quite a few people using large desktop computers and lots of monitors. By afternoon it is always too hot. Even in the winter, we need the A/C in the afternoon or is way too hot. Now we never have to change between heat and cool, just set the temperature band and we're always happy.
