Worth the money
Great book for beginners and strength training. Dr. Yessis’ approach is so simple it may cause people to think he is off his rocker. 1x20 is a wonderful guide for anyone who wants to develop strength and keep it for the long run.

I liked that the author gives different methods to progress and uses different sports. I have talked to one college strength and conditioning coach who uses this program with a Division 1 men’s basketball team.

Covers the one set approach well
Book covers the one set strength training approach well.As I was already doing one set training, the biggest takeaway for me was to review the list of exercises suggested. I dropped some exercises that were overlapping the same muscles, and added new exercises to my routine (for example, hip extensors).I knocked off one star because the book is rather pricey. I would suggest $20 or something like that would be a fairer price.

Good Program
Good read. The high school athletes i train enjoy the variety of exercises. Don't be fooled, tho. The workouts are challenging. The 20 rep sets of squats, bench, and trapbar dl are very tiring.Is this the best program for young athletes? I am not sure. However, it is certainly as worthy as any typical 3×5, 3×3, 5/3/1, etc....

Superior training knowledge
Genius in this book. I will be using the program on myself. We already use it with the athletes at the school where I work with great results. Learned a lot from the content.

Solid for youth and beginners of all ages.
This program gives the opportunity to use many exercises and still have the time to work on other qualities. Research continues to show that low reps with high load are not the only way to gain strength.

Needs photos
The book needs photos of the movements. I had to watch YouTube videos of a guy showing each movement.
