Not a lot of support
This bed frame is a bit flimsy - will definitely need a box spring with this. It gives way under just a mattress. Well, my son is 6'6" and 260 lbs - so if you or your child are smaller than that, might work better for you. He's happy with it - once we got a box spring.

The answer to prayers
We were downsizing our house, and our new apartment building had a teeny tiny elevator.I wanted total flexibility, in that......I wanted to move into our new apartment in stages, not via moving van, so I needed to have a slim box that I could "dolly in" myself...I needed under-bed storage capabilities...I needed configuration flexibility (e.g.--two twin xl could be a king or could be twins in two different rooms)...in case we moved, I wanted to be able knock down these fast. Heck, I wanted to be able to put them UP fast....I needed NON-squeaky super-solid frames because there were residents under me (I toss and turn and would drive anyone below nuts)These were WONDERFUL.We own four. Two form a king bed in the master; two are serving as twin beds in two other rooms. All of them are providing amazing storage space underneath. After measuring the space between legs and the floor clearance, I ordered bunches of Sterlite 66-quart ClearView bins (Dimensions: 23 5/8" L x 16 3/8" W x 13 1/4" H) and added some longer boxes for the ends of the beds. There is no real way to attach a headboard without a hack, but we've been able to order some nifty headboards online that we just tilt against the wall. You can top these with a regular mattress or do as we did it you are doing quickie apartment furnishing: we ordered foam mattresses that came rolled up (another "dolly in").DO NOTE: the only thing I think that is misleading is the "bed frame and box spring." THERE ARE NO BOX SPRINGS! But it doesn't matter: plop a mattress on and the bed height is PERFECT.

It's fine if you stay perfectly in the middle
Do companies test out their products before marketing them??Frame has zero support on the edges, so much so that it feels as if you will roll off the sides if you get too close.

I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because the mattress slips around a bit
It's very sturdy and great purchase, I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because the mattress slips around a bit. The metal is slick and there are no corners or side parts to keep the mattress from sliding. Still a great purchase, just needs improvement. Super easy to put together too. Ships in 3 segments, 4 support bars and 4 round legs.

Not bad, seems sturdy, not very well designed and probably overpriced.
For years my son has had a child's loft bed with a slide down one side. He's 8 now and on his own decided he did not want to sleep on it anymore (he started to take it apart). I had a choice, I could buy him a regular twin frame but then probably have to replace it in a few years for a twin XL (as he got taller) or just do that now.I ordered two of these and two new 12" foam mattresses and they work out pretty decently. The structure itself seems very sturdy. The top metal grid is made up of 3 pieces that bolt together. To assemble, what I did is screw the 4 round legs onto each of the rounded end pieces of the top grid. (make sure the spring faces up) with that done you end up with each of the two end pieces laying at an angle held up on one side by the two legs. Spin one end around on one of them so that both sections are facing the same way (not opposite each other as when they are built) This allows you to rest the middle section onto the section your not working on to support it up in the air as you bolt it to the opposite end section. (This whole process is much easier if you get a regular sized wrench and a socket wrench.)So my issues with this bed? At least with the twins I ordered the middle legs that support the whole center section are set in from the edge about 8" The problem I found was that when an adult sits on the edge the other side tilts upward. This would not happen if those legs were spaced more towards the edge as the legs that support the corners are.So why 2 stars? Well generally I consider 3 stars to mean the product meet my expectations. With this item I can see there is going to be some metal against metal issues in the future. It will start to squeak, not a matter of will it or won't it its just a matter of time before it starts becoming noisy. I was a bit disappointed to see that one of the main support wires is wrapped in a heavy paper that is about half as thick as box cardboard. Yeah, I know it's done to prevent metal to metal rubbing and control the noise that would make but seriously, paper? You could not stick it in plastic tubing or coat it with a rubberized finish? Paper really? So as a side note, you can't shove a mattress under this bed frame to use as a trundle bed, the legs that support the middle totally kill that. Secondly it gives you 14" of height so you can shove 4 really good sized totes under it, worked out great for hiding all the kids toys.I guess I would probably have rated this higher if it had been under $100, but it was $130.00.So my rating system3 stars = meets expectations1 or 2 stars = fails to meet expectations4 or 5 stars = great or rocks your world. If you have a question feel free to ask, I usually answer within 24 hours. Some links for you of what I boughtLUCID® 12" Plush Triple-Layer Memory Foam Mattress 25-Year Warranty , Twin XLBlue Nile Mills 1500 TWIN XL BED SKIRT MICROFIBER SOLID-SILVERPinzon 5-Piece Bed In A Bag - Twin X-Large, Royal Blue Calvin Stripe

Metal bed frame
It was VERY hard to find a Twin Extra Long plain metal bed frame like this, but I'm glad we finally did. I am extremely pleased with this frame, it is just what I imagined I wanted. It is very sturdy. The four end legs are round, about 2in. The clearance underneath is 14in. It is surprisingly well made and does not wobble or sway at all, yet I can easily move it. We have put up to 425 lbs on it. The only thing is be careful of the netting on the edges of the mattress protector you put on your mattress - the spring things on the top of the frame can catch the fabric in a just a couple of places when you move the mattress to put sheets on, but overall it is pretty smooth and good. We haven't had any trouble with the mattress sliding off or out of place though, it stays put. We bought two. I heartily recommend this frame. It came in under a week, and was no trouble to put together (well my husband did it and he didn't cry or complain)! Get one!
