Q: I want to inputs to for turn single and backup camera as i turn/backup. What do i need to make this happen? small digital timer - parts/list/help plz!

ok, so there is a review on here that lays out adapters and what not for the typical setup. (male to male, etc) I don't think you will need a timer per say, but when I wired up my front and rear cam (front on toggle switch, rear off backup lights) I had to use diodes (also found on here) to splice the power into the radio signal input. the diodes allow basically one way power, so you do not feed back to the other source, or over load your input on the radio. the rest is simply finding power sources for the cameras, and wiring them in. I ignored the 'automatic' input, because I wanted mine to show backup whenever in reverse, even if my front camera was engaged. you might want to do the same, but testing before tucking your wires away is a great idea to make sure its all setup.

Q: Can i use this switch to go between 2 reverse cameras? I have one on my bumper and am adding a wecond camera to my headache rack to help when backing

Yes. A diode may assist with the radio trigger wire

Q: What is the response time -- the time between applying 12v to the purple wire (for example) and when the picture shows up on the monitor?

It is pretty quick. Mine runs a few cameras. Pop into reverse and its on the display.
