Difford's Guide to Cocktails #12 Hardcover – 25 July 2016

I spend days looking for a good cocktail book for my partner's birthday. I knew I had found it when I stumbled across this book. It is short and clear, showing you pictures of what each drink should look like. It gives you a lot of information on what ingredients would be best (and which cheaper version of ingredients you could swap them out with), exactly how to make it, what it should taste like and has fun quirky descriptions for them all. For some of the more well-known cocktails it also has a brief history. This book is very helpful and informative without being pretentious or overloading you with information. It is really easy to find a cocktail as everything is in alphabetical order. It is the best guide to pretty much all cocktails out there that you can get.

I started with Simon Diffords Sauce guides back in 2001. This book is a comprehensive encyclopaedia of drinks; I use it as a reference book and it would be at home in any bar serving mixed drinks for when a customer asks if you can make a [insert name of drink they had once in a bar whose name they can’t remember]

This is the only cocktail book you will ever need to buy. Has everything in it. Stuff you would want to make and stuff you would never make. Everything has a picture, recipe and description if applicable. Clear, concise and fascinating. If you are into cocktails it's a no brainer.Just buy it.

Brilliant book, an absolute bible for cocktail bartenders. Bought this for a friend who was just starting out in a cocktail bar and it really gives you all the information you need. Everything from glassware to the most obscure of mixed drinks. As someone who has worked with cocktails for my entire career I can highly recommend!

Quite simply the best cocktail book around and a must have for any mixologist!! Has 1000s of cocktails including photos of every one plus loads of interesting tips and tricks in the front of the book. Love it!

This book is fantastic. On every page you find a cocktail that you want to try. I am going to have to retire so that i have more time to drink!

Good book. Although an earlier edition had descriptions of a lot of the boozes that are used. I wish this one did too.

Fantastic book, especially in the nearly-exhaustive recipes section. Pictures, ratings, and comments on each. If you only get one cocktail book, make it this one. A real go-to.

Très bon livre, très complet, chaque cocktail à sa propre image et la quantité est énorme. C'est tellement bien adapté qu'il ferra plaisir à tout le monde, dès des amateurs jusqu'aux barmans beaucoup plus profossionels. Son défaut? Il y a aucun moyen de navigation/glossaire. Les cocktails sont organisés par ordre alphabétique et c'est tout. Donc si vous cherchez 1 cocktail spécifique mais vous connaissez pas le nom, ou vous cherchez 1 cocktail par liqueur ou spiritueux par exemple, vous avez pas comment. Ce qui nous invite à visiter le site de l'auteur pour une recherche avancé (complètement gratuit).
