Great hiking boots! If you want better, they will cost 3 times as much. Seriously, I have 5 different Nortv 8 boots. They all are comfortable from day one and, so far, wear a long time. They provide sure footing on most surfaces , including uneven and slippery ones. They have good ankle and arch support. Buy a pair and see for yourself.

Purchased these boots to climb Mount St. Helens. Took them out the box and did the hike. I was a little concerned since I had not broke in the boots but they performed perfectly. No blisters. Held up really well to the rock climbing and ash/sand gravel that was the last couple of miles to the top. Not sure on the longevity since I have only made the one hike, but they were in great condition after the hike. Fit true to size.

Well, briefly tried them on. Disappointingly, they stunk to high heaven of some type of chemical or leather treatment coming out of the box. I have them sitting in the garage to air out and the smell is fading, but it was extremely pervasive. The paper stuffed in the shoes absolutely reeks of the same type of chemical. The left boot seemed a little large, but the right boot fits very well. If the smell does not tamp down, they will have to be returned.The smell never completely disappeared, and unfortunately missed the return window by one day. They still smell like the chemical stench they had since day one. It has not completely faded. Do not want these chemicals absorbed through the skin, and through my liver. Will not deal with brand or vendor again. Will simply stick with a known quantity like Merrell or Timberland. Buy at your own risk.

Waited until I wore these boots on quite a few hikes to warrant leaving a review. As for the seller, he/she was prompt and the boots were packaged well and arrived speedily. As for the boots, never had to break them in, which is a sign of a proper boot. I've hiked through creeks, mud, on gravel and hilly terrain. They have 100% passed the litmus test. I was concerned because the price was so cheap I was afraid they'd be a knockoff or faux shoes; I took the gamble and purchased them and it was well worth the risk. I love these boots!!!
