A few years ago, I purchased my HP printer which has been a very reliable printer. I was using genuine HP printer ink, but it kept getting more and more expensive especially over the last four years of runaway inflation. I had found a generic replacement ink cartridge company on Amazon whose product worked just fine with my HP printer. When I went to re-order replacement cartridges again thru Amazon the company, I had been using was no longer available on Amazon or in business any longer for that matter. At the same time, I had purchased a laptop computer for my wife. Part of setting the laptop up for her was getting the laptop to print wirelessly to our HP printer. This required me to install the HP software on her laptop. What I did not realize was that installing this software was going to trigger a firmware update! This firmware update blocked the use of non- genuine HP printer cartridges! When I went to print a document from my home office computer to my dismay, I received this message on my printer communicating that it would no longer use the existing perfectly fine cartridges to print any longer!I had previously decided to order replacement cartridges on Amazon from a company called smart ink! Their motto is “it’s your smart cartridge choice”! I was about to find out just what a good choice I made in trying out this companies’ product. On the Amazon website, this company made a very smart customer service choice to include readily available F.A.Q.’s about successful installation and implementation of their Smart Ink Cartridges for your printer. Timing is everything and had I ordered the cartridges before installing the printer application on my wife’s laptop, I would have seen the very clearly displayed instruction to go into my printer’s set-up menu and disable the auto update feature! By the time I went and installed the new Smart Ink Cartridges on my HP printer it had already auto updated the firmware to block the Smart Ink cartridges. Smart Ink had already done the smart thing by providing me with access to their very smart team of customer service experts. I emailed them my situation with pictures of error messages to troubleshoot for me! I receive great customer service almost immediately back with a solution to try. Unfortunately, the recent firmware update from HP denied me access. Smart Customer Service responded back to me that they would need to send me another set of cartridges free of charge!In the meantime, Smart Expert Customer Service helped me to install an application that would reverse the firmware update and restore my printer back to the version that worked perfectly well with non-genuine H.P. Printer Ink! The replacement package was delivered today ahead of schedule, and I admit I was nervous about trying this set of cartridges out! I would identify the box the product shipped in as the Smart Ink Box because it is adorned with bright colorful customer service communication on how to get ahold of them in virtually every way possible! It’s the smart thing to do in my opinion! The box comes with a very nice 2 Year Smart Cartridge Warranty Certificate! You also get a nice Guide included for your individual printer’s cartridge type! This a professional very smart company that deserves to be in business for a very long time; at least I want to be their customer and part of the Smart Ink Family for as long as I own a printer! The Smart Ink Cartridges you sent me work GREAT and your team of Smart Subject Matter Experts are AWESOME! I am 66 years old, and this is the best customer service experience I have had my entire life! THANK-YOU and I wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone that needs to use a printer for home or business! I never imagined I would feel compelled to write a review for ink cartridges, but after installing this set in my aging HP OfficeJet Pro 8720, I have to say I am impressed. I usually buy genuine toner and ink, but in this case, with this printer, I couldn't fathom paying $100 more for genuine replacement cartridges. The package included very nicely written and illustrated instructions, proactively anticipating any hiccup that might come up. I didn't run into any problems at all. When I installed the cartridges, my printer said these aren't genuine, I said OK, and that was that. The print quality was good and as expected. It looks like they have a very strong customer service component if you run into any issues, and I appreciate the proactive approach. Finally, they included biodegradable gloves to wear when handling the cartridges (no inky fingers yay!), and each individual cartridge was sealed but easy to open and with clear instructions about what to do. I am going to order a backup set to have on hand right now!

4 stars for the product, 1 star for customer service.I ordered this pack a year ago because as we all know HP cartridges are exorbitantly expensive.It’s been working fine except the yellow just stopped. I went to order another brand but this came up again as the best price. I almost didn’t order again, but looked at a review that detailed the awesome customer service and support if anything is wrong with the cartridges. Two year warranty!I went on the chat and she had me try a few things with the cartridges and printer. After all that was exhausted she’s sending me a new pack expedited.So I’m happy they back up their product and make it right.Most sellers on Amazon do not.

This ink is excellent so far. Very easy to install in my HP printer, clear directions if you're unsure of how to change the old cartridges, and multiple ways to contact customer service if anything goes wrong. I haven't needed to print anything out just yet, but I did run the program to clean the printer three times and assessed the print quality after each. After the first cycle, the print was still quite streaky, especially in the color block samples, but that's to be expected so I ran the clean again, reassessed, and after the third cycle the print looked excellent. Slight bars in the color block still, but I don't plan to print many, if any, solid-color images as I print written assignments more than anything. No smudging on those tests either. So far, this ink is excellent and will suit my needs perfectly. I will likely continue to order it in the future.

Like most, if you have upgraded your software on your printer, these cartridges will not work. But if you jump online with them, it's a very quick process for them to tell you how to revert back to the old printer software if you're willing to go through 5 to 10 minutes of hassle to save some money. I was very impressed with the packaging that allowed you to take a picture with your phone that connected you with the service agent to take care of this process to revert back to an older version of your HD printer software. The agent stayed on the online with me until the process was complete.
