Do you have to install a software for horizontal scroll?

Accepted Answer

No.  The horizontal scroll works right out of the box.  I really like this mouse.  You might want to know that like all bluetooth devices there is a delay on startup before it becomes active.  I use the usb adapter (very small, and so small you can leave it plugged into your laptop).  I really like this mouse.  You’ll be happy with it.

Works on ipad with the Bluetooth (any Dongle )?

I recently purchased the newest iPad air.  I tried to connect the razer over bluetooth and the mouse was NOT discovered.  So I’d have to say no.  Also I can’t think of an iPad app where a mouse would come into play.

Does this mouse have onboard memory for storing what the programmable buttons do when plugged into 3rd party devices without the software installed?

I had the same question you had and was confused by the conflicting answers I found on the internet. I decided to buy the mouse anyway and can say that the answer is yes, it does store button assignments to the onboard memory for the most part! On one computer I used the Razer Synapse software to swap my left and right click so that I can use the mouse as a left-handed mouse. I verified that my custom button remapping carried over to computer that doesn't have the Razer Synapse software installed. I was also pleasantly surprised that if I remap one of the mouse buttons to be the Hypershift button, the Hypershift functionality works without needing the Razer software installed either, thereby giving me access to a second layer of button mappings. I said "for the most part," because some special button assignments do require the Razer software to be installed. If you want to program a mouse button to launch a program, activate a Windows shortcut, or input some text, for example, the software says that Razer Synapse is required to use these functions.

Can I connect via bluetooth to my Macbook air without the dongle?

Yes you can.  There is a toggle switch on the bottom of the mouse that let's you connect via 2.4ghz dongle or bluetooth.
