CamJams are the Best!
The CamJam XLs are an excellent product. I use them to secure a “Movies in the Park” screen using 1/4” double braid boat anchor rope. I usually set up 4 anchors on my screen. Once in place, I can easily adjust the tension. I’ve been using them for two years now and they have never failed. Quick to set-up and quick to release. I highly recommend this product.

Great cam locks
These have been awesome! Great quality, easy to use, and decent value. The work as intended. Would definitely buy it again.

Great design and product
These little Cam locks are brilliant. They're perfect for parachord. I bought a couple for camping and liked them so much I bought about 6 more. I use them to tie down the poles of the tarp over the kitchen area. Having the cam makes it very easy to adjust the tension on the poles, which adjusts the tension on the tarp. I like that they're all metal and no plastic parts because this makes them very sturdy. Plus they'll last a long time.I also use a set for setting up cross lines between trees, either for setting up a clothes line for items to dry or to act at the peak of the tarp. The cam makes it very easy to tighten, where in the past I would have tied a knot, making it hard to get tight and even harder to un-do. We've all put up drying lines, loaded them with wet towels, only to see them sag too much causing items to slide to the middle and force you to re-tighten the line. This makes it so easy. These are overkill for support lines on tents. You could use them, but I think the smaller plastic versions might be just as good unless you were planning to be in really heavy wind.Be aware, there are limitations on the diameter of rope you can use with these. I believe it's 2MM to 6MM. So many standard ropes won't work well. As I mentioned earlier, Parachord works perfectly. Also be aware they make many tiers of parachord. The standard stuff you see in Home Depot might only have a strength of 60 - 160lbs, where you can buy parachord online that goes up to 700lbs....yet has the same diameter. It might be the difference between spending $3 for 100ft vs $9 for 100ft....so for $6 more why not get something much stronger.I haven't tried using these to tie down items on the roof rack (i.e. ladder or our sea kayaks) but I might give it a try. If I have an epic fail, I'll be sure to update my review. As with any cam or strap you put outside your car to hold gear down, make sure you tie a backup knot on the tag end, securing the tag to the primary rope. It's just in case a cam slips. I do this today with my Thule straps. In 15 years of having items like kayaks on my car roof rack, I've had them slip twice. Usually due to getting wet and the cam not fully gripping the strap. The simple knot saved everything. So please have a back-up knot for this as well.

Great device, well built
These are very handy and built to last. Easy to use with the instructions stamped on the device. Pricey, but worth it if you want a quality product.

Very please with this terrific product
I don't normally write reviews, but this product worked really well for me so I thought I'd endorse it. It's rock solid and work well to grasp the rope in the cam with no slippage. I use two of them to suspend my 130 pound kayak while I work on it. I use a 1/4" rope with it.

Left rope long, so I could tighten from ground level. safer than tightening from ladder.
Great for tarps, or, sunshades! These are amazing! I've swapped out just rope with hitch knots etc. etc. life changing for me. No more struggling to install my large sunshades, 20'x20'. Using these makes the task simple and super fast. They are worth every penny.

These things are awesome!
Wow! I love these things! Yeah, they’re kind of spendy, but they’re slick. They work so well, and they’re so easy. I had read quite a few reviews, which were positive. But not for the same brand in the plastic version. I’m using these to hold and tighten sunshade sails that cover our courtyard. I had concerns about the plastic version, so I just spent the money and bought these aluminum ones. I’m glad I did. They are so cool. So much so, that I’m sort of hoping I have a need for more of these somewhere else, just because they are so damn fun, simple, and easy to use. They just work. I really like it when a product just works. It seems so rare anymore, so it was a pleasure to utilize these. They’ve been up for about six weeks. We live in a high wind area, and they showed no signs of wear. What a great product!

Strong, quick to deploy and break down, and you can set them in the dark.
I have a bunch of the lighter version of the product, made of some plastic composite, that I have permanently attached to a bunch of guy lines for tents and rain/shade flys. This one is going to live on a 40-foot rapid-deployment tarp ridgeline that’s made with 750-pound test paracord, but the tension on that line is never going to get anywhere near the rated failure load for this device, let alone for the line itself. One thing I like about the whole system is that if you have them pre-installed on a length of line with a fixed loop at one end and a stopper knot at the other end, you can tension the line in pitch darkness, just by feeling which side the stopper knot is on. Hook the CamJam into a grommet, a D-ring, a Prusik loop, a webbing loop, or whatever, feel for the knot, and just pull your line until it’s as tight as you want it. Your line is oriented just right for where it needs to be to get fixed by the cam. Takes less time to do than it just did for me to write this.
