Philips Sonicare Breathrx Antibacterial Mouth Rinse, 16 Fl Oz

I'm a big fan of Sonicare products. I was looking for an alternative to my Crest-ProHealth mouthwash since it has parabens . Although this mouthwash does not contain parabens, it contains a high concentration of artificial coloring/dye Blue 1 (listed 1st among inactive incredients meaning the bottle contains more blue dye than any other inactive ingredient) derived from petroleum and causes crazy dry mouth (for me at least) which is something that actually increases the likelihood of bacteria spreading. At least Crest-ProHealth lists the same dye last in its inactive ingredients and is significantly cheaper though both mouthwashes have almost the same amount of active incredient (cetylpyridinium chloride). Though this mouthwash contains xylitol and zinc, both good ingredients, I'm afraid that overall it does not meet expectations, especially given its high cost. Also it burns a bit more than expected (not a problem for me, but people w/ sensitivity issues should take notice) for an alcohol-free mouthwash. So, my search continues...

I do like this mouthwash because it does work and it does last at preventing bad breath, even minimizing morning breath when used the night before. I have bought it on and off for years and like it better than other products. My main complaint is the bright blue color! How I wish they wouldn't add the artificial dyes and leave it clear. I'm always washing little blue splashes and drips off/down my sink. Please get rid of the dye!

This ingredient may be derived from animals. Cocamidopropyl betaine is an organic compound derived from coconut oil that you can find in a many of your “natural” or “organic” skin care and hair care products. Poloxamer 407 is a hydrophilic non-ionic surfactant of the more general class of copolymers known as poloxamers. Poloxamer 407 is a triblock copolymer consisting of a central hydrophobic block of polypropylene glycol flanked by two hydrophilic blocks of polyethylene glycol (PEG) Propylene glycol (IUPAC name: propane-1,2-diol) is a synthetic organic compound with the chemical formula C3H8O2. It is a viscous, colorless liquid which is nearly odorless but possesses a faintly sweet taste. Chemically it is classed as a diol and is miscible with a broad range of solvents, including water, acetone, and chloroform. Xylitol /ˈzaɪlɪtɒl/ is a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener. Zinc gluconate is used to treat and to prevent zinc deficiency.

I'm pretty disappointed in this. I gave it a good chance, too. It says you have to use it twice a day for two weeks to give it the full time to be effective. I actually was foolish enough to reorder it, and I have used three bottles. It really has not worked for me at all. I use it after I brush my teeth, and by the time I am done getting ready for work, my mouth already is starting to taste and feel "not fresh". By the time I get to work, I am already very unconfident, and reaching for my breath sprays and breath strips. I won't buy anymore of this, and my search continues. It just doesn't work.

My husband always has a bad odor to his breath even after he brushes his tongue and brushes. This mouth wash has helped alot to get rid of the smell.

I buy this for my husband as it was recommended to him by his dentist. It is alcohol free and it doesn't irritate his gums like the washes with alcohol do. It really kills all the bacteria and leaves his breath kissably fresh!It is pricey but it is worth it!

This stuff it really great for making your breath feel fresh. Also really great for loosening up any mucus hanging out n the back of your throat which is a real plus for me. I bought this as a refill for the little spray bottle I got with my brush head two pack, so this bottle with last me for probably a year. Would highly recommend!

I could sing the praises of this mouthwash for DAYS! It so effectively combats bad breath all day long. I used to be self conscious about my breath but this has truly worked miracles for me. I am so glad it is sold on Amazon because my area Walgreens have stopped selling it.
