My 3 year old and 6 year old LOVE these trains! I enjoy playing with them too. There are lots of connecting sets, but this is the best starter set, particularly for birthdays. We love our set so much we buy this set for all our friends’ kids. It doesn’t have the cool stuff like ramps or firehouses, but this set maximizes creativity and comes with an engine so they can start playing immediately.Pros:1) Variety of track pieces plus an engine means kids can start playing and have tons of fun even from an inexpensive set.2) You can continue adding to this set, pretty much forever because there are so many expansions.3) If it’s a gift you don’t have to worry that they might already have it - you can never have enough track!4) Even at 1 year old kids can get these tracks together and enjoy the trains. The bright colors and lights are awesome for littles.5) This set is the best for the price. It really is the ultimate birthday gift for kids’ parties and it’s fun for everyone. We keep waiting to put it away and get out our Brio, but the kids wont let us!Cons:1) The music is repetitive! There is an off switch, but it’s easy for kids to turn on. If you don’t turn it off before putting it away it will randomly start singing at you.Some of our sets are now 3 years old, not a single piece has broken! It’s incredible.

I bought this for my one-year old grandson. He likes the train but dismantles the tracks. The train will run across the floor without the tracks. This might be more suited for a two-year old and up, simply because the younger babies wouldn't really understand what it's supposed to do. He does like it, it is durable and will keep a child busy for a good period of play time. It makes a nice gift, is packaged solidly and it is colorful and easy to put together.

Purchased for my grandson. He is 18 months old. We just made it into a square. The train gets stuck if using the turn around. It wasn’t a big deal to exclude. I can save pieces when for when he gets bigger and expands this collection. Trevor the train is easy for him to turn on by self. It even moves on my kitchen floor so he has fun following it around the house.

My kids really enjoy playing with this toy, however there are a few issues. 1. Some of the track pieces have gotten lose after a few times taking them apart and now they come apart easily. Now if my kids attempt to move the track it falls apart. 2. The loop section of the track causes the train to gets stuck and stop. We had to permanently put the red piece to block it so the train will consistently move around the trackOverall, it’s a cute little toy and my kids aren’t as bothered by the issues as I am. They do still enjoy playing with it and it has some cute sayings.

LOVE this set! My 3 year old & 1 year old have been playing with it non-stop since we opened it. (1 year old is a little young for it, but it still keeps him entertained lol).The train has two on options: one to make the train drive itself, the second lets your kid push the train. It makes lots of noise, but i'd say it's more on the quiet side so it's not annoying. Seriously this is a fantastic toy! My only complaint is the track pieces don't stay together very well, so if you need to pick up & move the track, the whole thing comes apart. But as long as you arent trying to move it, it stays together when it's just sitting on the floor (or table).

I bought this for my 3 year old with cerebral palsy. It's a very cute set and is easy to put together. The train itself is cute and you can choose to have it simply play noises so the child can push it themselves or you can activate the motor on it. The train had a tendency to hit the wall if you have the circle open but ours has always righted itself and continued forward. Then the train is smart enough to know when it goes through the little tunnel. Overall very cute.

The Choo Choo Train playset is a perfect addition to the Train Station playset. With the additional track pieces, new configurations can be designed. The Choo Choo Train playset also comes with an additional train slightly decorated differently from the one that comes with the Train Station set.
