Easy to install, excellent customer service
Make sure to order correctly Right of Left handed door. Excellent customer service - I had ordered the wrong item (Left instead of right) 2 years ago but hadn't tried to install it. When I discovered that I had ordered the wrong one, I called customer service and they promptly sent me the correct one - they didn't even ask to send the first one back! - The lock is easy to install and has excellent instructions. It is sturdy, looks nice and is rust-proof. Great lock for the price!

I like the feature that allows you to unlock it and it stays that way until you lift up the handle.
Sort of a pain to have to drill 4 holes to mount the mechanism. Once mounted though It does work well. Creating an entry code with the little programming enabelers was easy. Paying attention to the instructions helped a lot.Punch in your entry code (minimum 5 characters) and the door stays unlocked all day long and just push down on the handle either inside or outside and bam-door is locked. Decent looking chrome and brushed look is okay and the handle feels solid and good in your hand. I did not want a battery driven door lock and this fits the bill with no batteries to have to change out. I'd purchase this device again.

Easy, sturdy (secure?)
This product seems very well made and sturdy. The face plates are fairly thick, real stainless steel I believe. Install was easy and intuitive. The locking mechanism seems very secure and simple, and seems sure to be reliable. Unlike more expensive simplex-type locks, the code can be entered in any order, which significantly reduces the number of possible codes, and therefore makes it somewhat easier to guess. But, how many thieves are just trying to randomly guess your code? Not many, I would think. And in terms of guessing based on your personal information (address, phone number, birthday, etc), those numbers come with an inherent code-order built in, so I’m not sure that method of guessing is really any more likely to work on this lock vs others. I did a bit of math, and if my calculations are correct, there are something like 495 possible 4 digit codes, and 950 ish possible 6 digit codes. The user can set up for a code anywhere from 1-6 digits, and there is no overt indication of how many digits are used. So, ultimately the number of possible combinations would be the the sum of possible codes for each number of digits. I’m not going to do the math, but just guessing maybe in the neighborhood of 2000-2500-ish total? That’s much fewer than the 10,000 possible combos for a four wheel padlock, for example, but enough that I don’t think anyone is going to be standing there randomly trying to guess your combo. Applying pressure to the handle, I don’t feel any difference in pressing the coded vs non coded buttons, which is promising, but I can’t say for sure weather it would be pickable by someone who knows what they’re doing. But in any case, I share the security concerns of other reviewers about using the lock to protect something of considerable value. However, my layperson’s impression is that it’s probably as or more secure than the cheapest off the shelf deadbolts and lock-sets, which may be fairly easily picked or bumped. And with this lock, you have the potential advantage of having something that is less familiar to would-be criminals. For a handle set, which even on a door with a tight jamb or cover plate could still easily be opened with the right shaped implement (or even credit card), I think the locking mechanism is more than adequate. The other main disadvantage is the fact that it requires additional holes drilled through the door for mounting. This means that the door would need patching if you ever switch to a different lock. For a nice door of any kind, I would recommend spending the extra money for either a simplex lock that mounts in a standard mounting hole, or one that you can be fairly sure you will be able to replace with the same model later on. But for a garage door, gate, shed, storage room, etc. it’s a really high quality product for 1/6th the price of a similar simplex lock from a major brand. And no batteries to worry about, or backup keys to loose. Excellent, for what it is.

Very Disappointing, Doesn't Work Properly
I purchased this door lock hoping for a secure and reliable solution, but it has been nothing but trouble. Right out of the box, the lock mechanism was stiff and difficult to turn. After a few days of use, the lock started to jam, and now it takes multiple attempts just to get the key to turn.

Good for the price but with serious issues
It’s hard to beat the price and it has some good features but it also has some very bad ones too.The first good feature that also doubles as a bad one is that you can leave the code in so the door stays unlocked until you lift the handle. This is very convenient unless someone has access to the door while it’s unlocked. They can easily guess the code based on which keys are depressed so when the door is locked they still have access. This leads to the second issue. The code is not sequential. You can press the keys in any order. This severely lowers the amount of attempts needed to crack the code especially if you know how many digits it is.On the note of coding, it requires taking apart the lock and putting in blocks to establish the code. They give you 8 block and you have to keep the extra blocks in a bag somewhere in case you ever want to set to code to a different number than you previously had. So if you set a 4 digit code, you’re locked into having a 4 digit code forever if you ever lose the extra blocks. Same goes for if you set an 8 digit code. You’re forever locked into an 8 digit code due to the inner workings of the lock.Again, it’s a great product for a low price and there aren’t many coded locks with “infinite battery life” on the market right now but you get what you pay for.

An excellent product, great price and outstanding support.
I first ordered one of these keyless door locks 4 years ago. Since then, this lock has performed flawlessly. It is used many times per day. A few months ago I purchased 2 more for a new building. The door handle on one of the doors would not rotate. I called their trouble shooting number, worked with support and had a new part in my hand a few days latter. An excellent product, great price and outstanding support. This will be the only keyless lock I will ever buy.

Love this lock!
While this lock was a bit of a pain to install (hard to get the screws to align with the threaded inserts on the other side), once installed I couldn't be happier with the lock. Easy to change combination before installation. The operation is smooth and very reliable. Once unlocked, door handles on both sides open the door great. To lock, simply push either handle up, and it clears the lock so it is locked until the next time. Even if you punch a wrong number, just move the handle up to clear, then put in the right numbers. Very sturdy, looks great, and works wonderfully!
