This file is worth every cent.
I absolutely love this file, and I’m unsure of how I lived so long without it..My work primarily consists of hardwood floor refinishing. With how much I use my wood scrapers, I needed to find a much better file than the one I was using. Came across this one, and figured I’d give it a shot. Glad I did because it has made my job that much easier. I’ve also messed around and used this file to repair a bad edge on a pocket knife. While you probably won’t get a knife razor sharp with this, it’s great for doing the rough cut.

BEST METHOD I HAVE USED, HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I have used whet stones and all kinds of gadgets that promise good sharpening but this file has far exceeded what I expected. After using it on my GOOD knife I pulled out my old stainless steel knives and was so surprised at the outcome. They are now razor sharp. very happy!

Just what I needed.
This is a very useful tool. I use mine for taking off burrs on hardened steel parts. They are accurately made, with consistently sized teeth, and hard enough to easily file spring steel, and hardened steel up to about 58-60Rc.

It's taken my scything to a new level!
So far I'm loving this file - it cuts so fine. It may be sacrilege to the purists, but I've been sharpening my Austrian Scythe by filing instead of peening and this file is giving me the best edge I've ever had on it - scary sharp!

Wish file portion was longer...
This is an 8 inch file where a full half of the file is a "handle". The cutting edges are very fine, although it did sharpen my grass clipper. I think for a lawn mower blade you'd like a longer file.

It works
It's a fine mill file, and does a good job of sharpening a blade, I've sharpened several blades with it, and it seems to be holding up fine.

Great blade file
If you want an actual 'blade file' for larger fixed blade knives, or small hatchets, this is what you want...especially if you want a packable file that works with your backpack or gear harness. The file ridges are MUCH finer than a standard hardware store file, width is about 1-inch and working file area is around 5-inches (the handle end is not file pitched). Hole in the handle end makes paracord tie-on loop easy to add (to secure on your pack). This appears to be designed well for backpacking or back-country work in general, and after sharpening my fixed blade Camillus knife, as well as two Estwing hatchets and my camp axe, I can say it really cuts metal fast to put a good edge on a good blade.
