ESL Intermediate/Advanced Grammar (English as a Second Language Series)

I use this book to teach the advanced class of English learners at ESL. Parts are difficult to learn but with multiple practice sheets the students understand when the unit is finished. I would recommend for anyone that needs a refresher or to improve their English language skills.

Just arrived today, and after a thorough skimming of the contents, looks to be a fine, and maybe my best, resource for ESL tutoring. I've previously served seven years as Head Teacher in Tokyo, Japan for a major international language company, and have been teaching both groups and one-on-one in the U.S. for the past two decades. This solid ESL reference and teaching tool could be used by an ESL teacher/tutor, as well as by an ESL student who has at least broached the intermediate level. A very thick goldmine of useful and practical ESL structures and exercises --- two thumbs way up !!

I'm not an ESL teacher, but I have been helping a friend who is from Colombia improve her English. Many times, when we start a new section in the book, she has said, "Yes, that has always confused me."

Straight to the point, practical, and plenty of exercises. However, some concepts havent explored in great details (for eg. the (subtle) difference between "think of" and "think about" aren't mentioned). But overall a pretty good solid book!

This is a great source of materials for intermediate and advanced adult ESL students. It is a joy to share good learning and resource materials with students so eager to learn.

I like the content, for the most part. It seems logically laid out, and easy to follow. I was looking for something with a lot more exercises, though. This doesn't give a lot of practice. Also, I got an very old, discolored book. I would have liked to know that's what I was getting. Something helpful would be to have it on a CD, so I could print and reuse things.

This book as best for how to Learn a correct Grammar and how to do write the good sentence . Am so happy to continue study English language.

Apresenta as regras da gramática que quase ninguém conhece, muito bom para quem está se preparando para um TOEFL ou TOEIC da vida. As explicações são claras e muito boas. Usei para me preparar para o TOEIC e obtive 900/990 pontos! Além de conter exercícios e todas as respostas.

ESLスクールに通うにも、もともとのコンテンツ、たとえば時制を英語でなんていうか、完了形は？進行形は？とか、知らないとわからないですよね。 そう言った意味で、すでに学生時代に習得している文法の講義を改めて英語化して学び直しています。 内容自体は中学生程度だとおもいますが、例文の表現などは日本のものと違って覚えるのが面白いです。

Excelente gramática. Explicações curtas e objetivas (tudo em inglês) seguidas de exercícios para fixação do conteúdo. Recomendo, mas importante já possuir nível intermediário do idioma.
