Q: Do you need a cheesecloth with these moulds?

Thanks for your question. Using these to make ricotta cheese, chevre and quark you do not need to line them with cheesecloth. If you are going to make a pressed cheese and add some weight to the top like a square feta cheese mould then yes it is a good idea to line them with cheesecloth.

Q: Hi, can these go in a dehydrator?

Thanks for your question. They are dishwasher safe so they can withstand hot water. It would depend on your dehydrator temperature. They should be fine with gentle drying heat but not cooking temperatures. Heather Country Trading Co.

Q: Could these moulds be used to make brie?

Great question, they're a bit fast draining for the white mould cheeses like Brie and Camembert and also a little small for a Brie. Take a look at our set of 3 Hard Cheese moulds - they have fewer holes so drain slower and would be better for making small wheels of Camembert and small Brie style cheeses.

Q: Can you use it for vegan hard cheese like Gouda and cheddar ?

Great question. I know I'm the seller but I would say no - these molds are really for softer smaller cheeses. You need our pack of 3 molds specifically for blue and hard cheeses - they are made of firmer material that can take weights and would be better for making vegan hard cheeses. There are two small molds and one large in the pack. We use the small ones for making vegan cashew blue cheeses and the large one we use for dairy cheddar and Gouda. They are sturdy enough to add gym weights to the top of to press your cheeses. Very handy, aside from intended use

Good choice of sizes and shapes, with different perforation patterns. Material is flexible enough, so that I dont estimate will crack any time soon. Very handy - I use it for filtering live kefir cultures, soaking and sprouting seeds, inlaid with linen for straining yoghurt, etc.

Fantastic value moulds for making your own cheese

I'd been looking for moulds for making cheese and came across these. I was unsure as they cost a lot less than most others taking P&P into account. I was really pleased I bought them.These are the first cheese moulds I have purchased. Up until now I've made cheeses that did not need moulds - mozarella, haloumi, etc. This time I made ricotta and the mould makes a difference - so totally recommended (although I'm still learning and have not yet used most of the 5 moulds included). The ricotta one however works a treat.

Great baskets for my new venture

I have recently changed to a plant-based diet and started making my own non-dairy cheeses. These baskets come in a good selection of shapes and are perfect for a uniform looking cheese. They appear to be durable and I would definitely buy again if I increase my usage.
