I have a YAESU FT-50R handheld transceiver and had been programming the radio with RT Systems FT50 Programmer v3.70.22 software, connected with a USB serial interface cable that had a Prolific UART chip and worked fine up to and including Windows 7 operating system. However, it no longer worked after upgrading to Windows 10 on the same computer. The programming software could not find any serial ports. Purchased this above CT106 CT42 USB programming interface cable and both Windows 10 and the programming software recognized the interface cable. The radio was successfully programmed, as before using the same version of RT Systems software on the same computer with Windows 10 operating system. Highly recommend !!!

Used this CT106-CT42 cable to program my Yaesu FT-60 with Chirp-next. After plugging in took couple minutes for Win10 computer to automaticly "set it up" then it worked every time after that no problem. Connected to FT Commander first, no issues but I did not like that interface. Despite warnings about using Chirp for Yaesu, it worked great. Chirp does list the FT-60 in its menu and most seem to have no problem but it is use at your own risk. This cable is great and am glad I bought it, 73.

I was able to get this working with the Yaesu VX-2R with CHIRP and VX Commander (as the other comment suggested). Once the cable is plugged in and setup, turn on the radio while holding the FW button down. It will display CLONE, start CHIRP's read from radio and it will appear to stall. Press BAND on the radio and it will start to read. To write, power on the radio while holding FW again. Press V/M and it will read WAIT. Start CHIRP's write to radio.

Received more or less on time today. Other than the cable itself a small CD with drivers V8/XP/W7/W10 and Mac as well as an installation leaflet (that one proved to be irrelevant) are included. Cable driver is installed with the installer off the said CD that creates USB <> Serial port bridge, thereafter ADMS-3 detects the cable/port immediately. Pretty much a flawless procedure. All work as eхpected. In fact I had troubles and spent 40 minutes once installing "native" ADMS VX6 cable for VX-6R recently - surprisingly nothing of the kind here with this 3-d party cable .

Does not work as described. Do not buy

Doesn't work with the VX-351. The software won't electronically connect using it. However, the order came quickly.

This is a solid little cable and does a good job of bridging my radio to my computer for programming. A++

After I tried another brand of programming cable that was supposed to work with multiple radios and it didn’t work, I bought this Worked perfectly with Chirp software and my old Yaesu vx5 radio.
