Q: How long can I expect a rotimatic to function? Number of years/months? How durable is the device?

We had this product for about 3 years and it is good as long as it works. About 3 months ago, it stopped working due to hardware issues. The problem with Rotimatic is that the company does not stand behind its product. It has one of the worst customer support. I was told that the machine has a hardware issue with no recourse for repairs. I was told that I can chuck the machine and buy another "refurbished" one from them. I would not invest in a company that does not have a long term vision to support their product or has complete disregard to the carbon footprint they are going to promote by junking these machines every 2-3 years!

Q: Can you use wholegrain flour to make a healthier version of wholegrain roti?

We advise against it. You can check out a list of compatible flours on the Rotimatic website, that is thoroughly tested and will give you consistent roti quality.

Q: Does it make roti without adding oil ? I want to make roti only with water and flour

I ve checked this. The oil is only there to ensure the roti does not stick to the pan. and its exactly a drop as measured in a lab condition - so not even 1 gram. Cant avoid this but IMHO the consequence is miniscule

Q: What's the diameter of a roti?

6" between six and seven inchit makes nice and fluppy roti I like it
