Premium Filtration

So far no issues with this filter. The fit is as good as the LG brand and saves some cash. Now I haven’t tested the water to see if it filtering less than the original, but as far as taste I have no complaints.

As far as I can tell, these are just as good as OEM. Not like I’ve paid for an independent lab test of our water, though. Either way, water tastes just as good and the filter’s published specs are what I would expect. The price is definitely right compared to the OEM’s overpriced options.

The fit was a little snug compared to our normal LG brand filter. Overall though, this was an easy install, and works perfectly with our LG fridge!

I have tried some of the cheaper brand filters and found they get stuck or leak. I am currently using my second Amazon Basics filter and found that this brand fits well and did not leak. This is a good value.

Not sure about this one. Looking at the seams... it looks very cheaply built since the seams are not straight where the back cover was glued on. The LG model has thick straight lines indicating higher quality manufacturing. Also the water just doesn’t taste as good and the back turn handle sticks out further than the filter area.

Home Depot was going to have to order the filter and it was not only a lot more it was going to take a week to get. I tried this one and it works as the original one. Will buy again

First off, the price is so much more reasonable than the LG OEM. Secondly, the packaging is exceptional! Filter comes in a custom fit box that is SEALED, and the filter itself is shrink wrapped inside the box. The OEM's come in an unsealed box, and the filter is just sitting in there. You have no confidence that it's factory fresh. I liked that the filter itself is clearly labeled with the NSF certified ANSI standards that it meets for filtration. I recently had to return some OEM's that claim the higher filtration offered by the "B" version (NSF Stds 42 and 53), only to be given the lesser "A" (NSF Std 42 only) version. Amazon is clear about it's versions, this premium version exceeds OEM standards, since it meets Stds 42, 53 and 401! Thank you Amazon!

I wasn't sure if it would fit, but it does. Can confirm it works for LG fridge LFD21860ST, which uses LG 5231JA2006A filter cartridge.

The flow is much slower with this filter than the LG OEM and Ice Pure filters I’ve used before.

Despite there being minimal information in the product description, I bought one of these expecting a certificate of performance or performance data sheet to come with this filter in order to be informed of what is and isn’t filtered out by this filter and the size of particles filtered. The filter itself refers to a certificate of performance but does not provide it. Its label says it is tested and certified to a few standards but actual performance and specifications vary from filter to filter and is usually disclosed, at least for name brand filters. It makes me feel like the filter’s quality only meets minimum standards and Amazon is not willing to disclose specifics to an informed user because their filter may be cheaply made and perhaps found inferior if their standards are compared to that of another brand. So this product may be cheaper than name brand but it is worth it is not filtering out some impurities or larger particles that the name brand does? I do not intend to re-purchase what is a completely unknown and possibly substandard product that could have long term health consequences for all I know. I also find it annoying that Amazon provides it in a box three times the size of the filter and in which the filter does not properly sit when the name brand filter comes in an appropriately sized box just fitting the filter that can be stacked and stored efficiently in the corner of a cupboard without rolling around. This product is disappointing by many measures without even having used it. Though I do not intend to use it. Amazon, if you want the user to trust Amazon Basics products, you need to treat us like informed/intelligent users of your products.
