Game of Thrones: Iron Throne 7" Replica

I purchased this 7" replica of the Iron Throne of Westeros for $56 from amazon and am very pleased with the shipping, packaging, and product overall. The piece is from Dark Horse and sculpted by Gentle Giant studios. I was a initially concerned it wouldn't be as detailed as the larger, and considerably more expensive, 14" version. However, those concerns were unwarranted because this piece is intricately detailed and each sword is distinct. The paint job is also excellent and has gold/bronze touches on several of the sword hilts. The throne is attached to the circular base, which has the HBO Game of Thrones logo on the back and details about the piece on the bottom. This is not a numbered or limited edition sculpt. Ratings: Durability - This thing is solid! I'm pretty sure you could concuss a dire wolf or, in the right hands, maybe even a faceless man with this mofo. I don't recommend trying either though. Fun - It doesn't do much other than sit there, but it looks so awesome that's really all it needs to do. It's a great display piece and is exactly the same height as the HBO bluray and DVD cases of the show, so it'll look great on a shelf. And it's the perfect size to put a 3.75" figure on. So let your fanboy/girl imagination run wild as you can now legitimately see what Iron Man (obviously), Wolverine, Snake Eyes, Darth Vader, Batman, etc. would look like as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Educational - Aside from mounting someone's severed head on a wall, is there any better visual aid to teach someone that in the game of thrones you either win or you die? I think not. Ask Eddard Stark. Overall - This is the first collectable from the HBO series or Dark Horse that I've ever purchased, and I'm extremely satisfied. Now all I need is a line of 3.75" figures from the show so I can finally put Tyrion Lannister where he belongs.

It came in this beautiful box, packaged in a moulded styro to keep it from shaking around inside the box. I got to say the top swords do bend to the slightest touch and are very fragile. It traveled all the way here to the Philippines so I guess it took a little beating. Yet it still arrived in one piece. The throne itself is quite heavy. Roughly around 3lbs. Amazing quality and craftsmanship. Perfect for any GOT fan.

I was worried about the quality, and although it may not be as nice as the more expensive models, this made an impressive gift. I consider myself a bit picky and I thought the quality was great. It's not indestructible though - one reviewer mentioned one of the tips breaking off - I imagine that would only happen if you dropped it. It's sitting on our bookshelf looking fantastic.

I wouldn't exactly consider this a toy being that I wouldn't let a child play with it. It is very sharp so use it as decoration rather than giving to a child to play with. It is very cool, incredibly detailed, and I love looking at where it sits in front of my books for A Song of Ice and Fire. If you love Game of Thrones as I do, it is a perfect replica of the Iron Throne.

We bought this for my brother in law for his birthday cake. Oh my goodness did this make the cake look AMAZING! This is very heavy, and I am glad I made a two layer carrot cake. It held the throne just fine. The detail on this is great. The swords on top of the chair are actually sharp. He was so impressed when we brought the cake out. He said he now has it on his desk and loves it. It was the best thing that we could have bought him for his name day.

I bought this as a gift. We are huge Game of Thrones fans. We love little movie memorabilia and this is the perfect item. It doesn't take up too much space in the home and it is a great model. It's the right weight because it balances and doesn't weigh anything down. It's too heavy for a paperweight. It's also easy to pack away. The swords are thick and don't bend easily so there's no fear of them becoming damaged if they're moved.

the moment I collected that Amazon box from my mailman ! I was amazed with how heavy it was and how big ! The throne box itself is a trophy! it has the throne's story written on the side. Now, the throne is quite detailed and is quite heavy! metallic with an excellent job on paiting and detailing. I would recommend this for every Game of Thrones fan... a must buy !
