Best pair I've ever owned
This is the best pair of snow boots I've ever owned. Colombia makes fantastic products and these boots are one of them.Warmth when you need it, they were comfortable out of the box. Sturdy laces included which I appreciated. Dig the color flare too. These are extremely effective in keeping water and snow out. Easy to kick off the snow once back inside and not a monumental chore to put on or take off.Great grip on the soles and there is a solid metal snowshoe ring up front if that's your thing. I also love the very sturdy mid calf support. I have thinner legs but can still get the upper boot sinched up nicely.Fantastic pair of boots worth every penny.

As others have said, these run a little small
I try and walk my dog every day when the weather is tolerable. Once the snow arrived, I realized that the waterproof leather hiking boots I already owned wouldn't work. While they were amply warm and dry, the synthetic soles - even with the 'lug' tread pattern - were extremely slippery, so I started looking around for a better 'winter walking boot' (and we have snow on the ground for around 5 months of the year). I decided to give these Columbia boots a try. While I normally wear a 10 1/2 medium-width size shoe/boot, based on the input from other reviews, I ordered a size 11 (1/2 size larger) and also the 'wide' width rather than the 'normal' width. The boots arrived the other day. I tried them on and was glad I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal. With heavier socks on, it gave me about 1/2" of room in front of my toes. The wider width also helped...no 'tightness' along the sides of my feet - and even if the insulation compresses over time, there is enough adjustment in the laces to further tighten the fit.Wore them the other morning when I went to walk my dog. Temperature was around 16 degrees and there was about an inch of fresh snow on top of hard-packed snow and ice on the streets. Once the boots 'cooled' (to the outside temp), traction was pretty good...still had to be careful in areas where underlying ice coated the streets. We walked about a mile and a half that morning. Feet were warm and dry and boots felt comfortable even though they're not 'broken in' yet. I was initially concerned about the 'height' of the boots (i.e. cutting into my shins when I walked) but this didn't happen...and the additional 'height' actually kept snow from getting inside the boots. One thing I noticed is that the 'lining' of the boots (like the 'lining' of other cold weather boots I have) is a fabric that makes it a little more difficult to 'slide' your feet into and out of the boots. To remedy this, I normally slip one of those thin plastic throwaway shopping (grocery) bags over my socks which makes it easier to slide your feet in and out. Also, if your feet 'sweat' while your walking, these bags will keep the boot linings dry. After I've had these boots for awhile I may update this review if I notice something worth mentioning.

Great product. Absolutely no complaints.
I read a lot of reviews before buying. This is my second pair of Columbia boots. The first pair were regular hiking boots and I was more than satisfied with the fit, comfort, waterproofing, and traction. Durability is great so far too. I just received the bugaboots today and was a little worried because a lot of reviews said they leaked, laces too small, poor fit, and discomfort. I’m not sure if they all received the same boots as me, because these boots are great! They fit the same as my other pair, the laces are sufficient, the insulation is good, they are warm and soft, they feel great walking around in so far. I absolutely love Columbia sportswear and will continue to buy their products. They have great quality and workmanship. I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt the need to for these boots since there are so many mixed speculated reviews out there. I ordered the same size for the boots as I would with most pairs of tennis shoes. I live in the mountains right next to a national forest and go out to the woods hiking every single week. That is the main use for my boots.

Comfortable and Versatile Boots, Slightly Lacking in Warmth
I've got to say, they're pretty darn good. While they might not be the toasty marshmallow-like boots I was dreaming of for those frigid winter days, they do a solid job in most conditions. What I love most about these boots is the wide size option. As someone with wider feet, finding comfortable footwear can be a struggle, but these Bugaboots fit like a dream. They're way comfier than the SOREL pair I tried, hands down.Another big plus is their lightweight feel. Seriously, these things are like wearing clouds on your feet. And don't even get me started on the waterproofing – it holds up like a champ against rain, slush, and even some light snow.My only gripe is that they could be a tad warmer, especially when the temperatures really start to drop. But hey, throw on an extra pair of socks and you're good to go.Overall, if you're after a versatile, comfortable pair of boots that can handle a variety of conditions, these Bugaboots are a solid choice. Just be prepared to layer up on the coldest days.
