Adjustable

This razor offers two adjustment levels, mild and more efficient. The mild setting (setting 1) is a little too mild for me, while the more efficient setting (setting 2) offers enough blade exposure to get the job done. For comparison, I typically use a Rockwell 6s with plate 4 or 5, or a Merkur Progress on the lower settings. Lightweight, quality Japanese construction (plastic, brass and stainless steel) and affordable. The included Feather Hi Stainless blades are a good compliment as they are very sharp. This razor makes a good travel razor or a good starter razor for someone that is just getting into DE (use setting 1 initially). I'll be trying it with other blades going forward (Personna Prep blades, Gillette Silver Blue, Perma-Sharp Super and Wizamet Super Iridium among others). If you are used to super aggressive razors this razor may be too mild for you, but it has a spot in my rotation, for sure.

I thought for the price it would have a more substantial feel to it. It doesn't feel very sturdy or something that I would expect to hang on to for many years. Other than that it worked. This is the first double edge razor I've owned so I can't compare its performance to others. It does shave and have learned quickly these things will cut you up fast if you are used to just dragging a drugstore blade down your face. Overall impressed with how well it works and am using their Feather blades with it. Great shave and should save me loads over disposables.

I’ve been using a double safety razor for years. And the more weight I lost the harder it got to get a close shave without slicing my face. This razor is super easy to use setting 1 is very forgiving ans gives a 5 blade smoothness without the fillet effect. Setting 2 is for skilled shavers and you work up to that. Only complaint is I wish they had a better balanced version.

I bought this lower cost double edge (DE) razor to introduce myself to the product category. I had never used one before and needed an alternative to Gillette products. I will never buy a Gillette product again ever since their insulting anti-male advertisement campaign. Anyway this shaver works great with a Japanese feather blade - super sharp. Loading is a non-issue since I can just open the blade flaps and rinse underneath the blade (easier than clearing my electric). To get to the areas underneath my nose I use a "Dollar Shave Club" razor which also avoids loading by having an open back.My beard is thick and I always had to use two shavers, first an electric, then the standard razor. So the only difference is that I don't use the electric anymore - it always made my face itch and I hated starting with it. I go first to the DE then the standard razor. It works great. I will be purchasing a really nice DE handle in the future, but will stick with the Japanese feather blades. Suck it Gillette!

I genuinely love Feather products. I have been using Feather DE blades for well over a decade now and I have never found anything better. I have a few safety razors as well, a couple of Merkur's, an Albatross, and now two Feathers. The other feather I own is an absolutely beautiful work of art. It provides a good, reasonably close shave, even if it is just a little too mild. It is that mildness factor that led me to try this Feather adjustable razor. I was skeptical because its handle is plastic, which means it is very light. Upon trying it, my first impression is that it is indeed very light, making it hard to let the razor work without applying additional pressure to keep the skin in contact. I also noticed how relatively difficult it is to change the adjuster lever. There are only two settings, and you have to twist the collar to open the butterfly pretty far before you can change the degree of the blade bend. This may be fine if you can get away with one setting or the other for your entire shave, but if you are looking for something with greater variability, this is not for you. Ultimately, it's not a 'bad' razor, but I would have expected more for the price. If not in terms of quality materials, at least in the adjustment levels or ease of use. It really just didn't deliver for me, so I'm back to my equivalent cost, which is a non-adjustable Merkur. I will probably consider this Feather as my travel razor so that it will add minimal weight to my bags, and if it were to be damaged, it would not be a significant loss.

I really like this razor, but the blade is not quite aggressive enough for me. Love the Feather blades. Use them in all my razors. Razor is hefty which I like. Have to tilt it a little more than normal for a close shave. If you have real tender skin then this razor is probably for you.

This razor is a great pleasure to use. I’ve used it only on the more aggressive setting, but at this setting it shaves smoothly, efficiently, and effortlessly. It is a light razor, but not too light. The butterfly mechanism is superb, and the grip is quite good. My only criticism is that it is pricey, but the excellent shaves it produces and the joy of using it are gradually eroding my sense of sticker shock. I highly recommend this razor.
