I would not use this in a shower even if I was rich enough to have a roomy spa for it.Having said that, this is a rock solid heavy piece with thick heavy bamboo laminations, precision notching and drilling to assure it will not appear shaky to anyone. The starburst pattern is nice.As I 'go Bohemian', a very affordable style to decorate for, this is my tenth piece of bamboo kit to assemble and it is the most solid with precise fitting of parts. The semi-gloss lightly lacquered finish is what I wanted. Enough sanding and prep was done to prevent bumpy rough surfaces on the finish. It shows off the grain of bamboo in all its glory. The soft plastic feet are a nice touch.Got it for a black Friday price.

UPDATE 8/3/19: The title of this item is misleading. It says in the title that it can be used as a corner seat in a shower. Well, I have had this bench for less than 3 months, and it already has mold on it. See photo. AND, this is with me wiping the excess water off most times. It could maybe be used in the corner of the bathroom, but definitely not where it will get wet. I am very disappointed, but I guess it is worth paying extra for teak versus bamboo. I do not recommend for use where it will get wet.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was so excited to get this as we are in a new house with a shower and no seat. I wanted the stool to make it easier to shave my legs. It was packaged very well, had all the parts and was very easy to put together. This was exactly what I needed and am happy with my purchase.Please note: Not all four legs are the same. The back one has the metal inset piece on the leg instead of on the shelf like the other three. I thought it was defective and sent the first one back. The seller sent out a new one, no problem.

This bench has been useful for my wife. I saw the reviews for this and similar items saying that it still gets mold growth despite being bamboo and mold resistant. So I decided to spray it with an oil-based urethane sealant (the kind used for decks and patios) to help keep moisture out. I sprayed before assembling so the inside faces would be covered, too. The bonus is that made it extra waterproof, so it barely even needs cleaning. So far so good!

This is perfect for the corner of the shower. I use it to store my shampoo, etc., and put a leg up to shave my legs in the shower. SO much cheaper than the teak ones. Regarding the instability others talk about because the shower pan is not level since it's sloped toward the drain, I simply went to the hardware store, bought a small leg riser and a slightly longer screw and just put the new screw through the existing riser and the new riser stacked on top of it. Super stable, no drilling. Regarding some claims of mold....I haven't had any problem in over 2 months now. I use the squeegee that I use on the glass shower doors to simply squeegee off the top and bottom shelves with one wipe each. I highly recommend this!

I purchased this in feb. of this year and it lasted until august! It did not come with the nonslip pieces for the feet causing me numerous falls in the shower. I ended up sore and with scratches from the falls. The legs starting slowly breaking everytime i fell over, it was finally done in when i sat down and it crumbled below me! Im not a large person I’m only 135 pounds it should have been able to support me not snap into unrepairable pieces! I would not buy this safety hazard again due to how quickly it broke. It looked nice at first but the look was not worth the accidents it caused. I cant believe it didn’t even last me 6 months before i had to throw it away. A waste of money and im disappointed i was delivered a product missing pieces and over subpar quality causing a serious safety hazard. At least its rain of terror and my need for my life-alert in the shower is over!

I bought this for my daughter’s shower for Christmas. She is currently deployed so there was no need yo open box and set it up. My mistake. I decided to open the boxes of gifts and slowly start setting them up so they will be ready upon her return this summer. I ordered the natural color and received black. Huge disappointment. It doesn’t match bathroom and also it is shiny and will show every dried water spot. Again, it is my fault for not peeking inside to inspect everything. Overall it is easy to put together. I did not over tighten anything but did have the under part of the seat crack and chip off a piece. So the three stars were for getting the wrong color and the chipping while assembling. Don’t know how it will hold up because no one is using it until my daughter is home from deployment. Not sure if she will even use it for shower because of the color. We will see.

I needed a little stool to sit on while I dress. This is the perfect size. It nestles against the dresser without blocking the path so I don't bump into it. Constantly sitting and standing does eventually loosen the screws, so I tighten them every few months.My husband tried to steal it so I had to get him one. He needed a little end table that wouldn't block his way. This is perfect against the couch and wall. Since he doesn't sit on it the screws haven't needed tightening in the 2 years he's had it.They haven't gotten wet so I don't have a mold problem. Even with constant use the finish is still beautiful after more than 2 years.

Wobbly. Moldy after 4 months of use and needs to be replaced.
