If you have severe to profound hearing loss OR mild to moderate plus with any distortion of sound/ Tinnitus this will be a life changer.If you have ‘Just’ Mild to Moderate hearing loss the considerably cheaper Geemarc LH-10 is just as good and I would recommend them.I have bilateral profound hearing loss and am intolerant of hearing aids. Whilst this unit does amplify well it’s not enough for me. I add ‘in line’ Fiio A3 mini audio amplifier (£59.99 via Amazon) with Bose Soundsport In ear wired (£120 - used/renewed via Amaozn, you can get them ‘new’ from Bose retail outlets, and occasionally on special Amazon deals), with this set up I get (a sort of) sensation of sound, which is just about enough to help me with my lip reading and also is powerful enough to help a bit with my intractable intrusive tinnitus.(Included picture shows my set up)The reason the unit is so good is that is the only one I’ve found that (with my set up - an extra amplifier) That gives no feedback.Deaf friends with lesser forms of hearing loss have told me the sound quality is much better with these than any other unit they’ve tried and some prefer to hearing aids. To fully benefit you need decent headphones; hence the Bose ones. The ones that come with the unit are not of a quality worth using tbh.There is a cheaper model - I haven’t tried that one so can’t comment.Re the price - it’s eye wateringly expensive.... They are well made, a sealed rechargeable battery, volume and tone controls, even so...But.......In the UK if you are Deaf you are entitled to claim VAT relief on any product to help with your disability.‘Action For Hearing loss’ have a web site and web shop and is the best site to easily claim Vat relief.(Hence I’ve bought mine from there so won’t appear on hear as verified purchase).The amplifier and headphones were bought on Amazon.Also, keep the USB charging cable in a very very safe place, the charging end has a very long slender plug, if you lose it.......Final, thought, don’t leave these units unattended, people will steal them as think are some sort of fancy music player??!!!!
