Highly recommend without breaking the bank.
I've been using the Jamo S bookshelf speakers for a few years now, and I’m thoroughly impressed! The sound quality is exceptional—crisp highs, rich mids, and surprisingly deep bass for speakers of this size. They deliver a balanced and immersive audio experience, perfect for both music and movies. The sleek, modern design blends seamlessly into my living room decor, adding a touch of elegance. Setup was a breeze, and they work flawlessly with my existing system. If you're looking for high-quality bookshelf speakers at a great price, the Jamo S is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Excellent speakers that scale with gear.
I'm fairly new in this audio journey and after many months (almost a year) since i bought these and having 2 different amplifier/dac setups and upgraded to a decent (to me) denon integrated amp, now i can finally appreciate how good these speakers really are, and they're already pretty good with cheap amplifiers, i remember having my jaw dropped when i first heard these speakers after upgrading from the polk audio t-15 which were my first ''audiophile'' setup with a smsl dac and smsl amp, i was smiling while listening to my music library admiring how good everything sounded, only problem was that the treble was a bit harsh sometimes but it didnt bother me much and i didnt think i would need to upgrade my setup any time soon, i was totally happy with it, watching movies, playing games, listening to music and all but last week i had one of those impulses and began to wonder, ''what if...'' so i decided to step my game up and bought myself an amplifier from denon. It was the day of reckoning, i knew i was going to experience a slight improvement since i was going from a 250 dollar smsl setup to a way more expensive denon integrated amp and i also was expecting the amplifier to have a different coloration to the sound but what came next i wasnt expecting. MY MIND WAS BLOWN. The speakers sounded so good it was as if i had bought a more expensive pair of speakers, more refined, spacious, airy, instrument separation, sweetness to the treble, strong bass, the sound stage was incomparable i didnt recognize not even remotely what i was listening to anymore, it was all new to me, i was raving. These speaker are a steal for what they cost, i totally recommend buying them and as the gear gets more expensive they sound more expensive too. This hobby is great!

Worth more than $200
Previously owned: cbm 170 se, cbm 340 se, and Def Tech 7006 Have auditioned: NHT classic, Paradigm studios, B&W 6 series, Martin Logans, and JBLs Headphones: Audio Technica AD700, Grado SR120, Phillips SHP9500S Receiver: Pioneer VSX 1019AH I am not an expert, this is just my observation Pros: Revealing detail without piercing sibilance. Youtube music will be difficult to listen to, download FLAC files. Tight bass gives pianos and strings a percussive feel Instrument separation in a decently sized soundstage (currently used in a desk setup) Lively and fun sound signature compared to the neutral cbm 170se/340se Magnetic speaker grills Incredible performance to price ratio Front ported (my preference) Cons: Although the tweeter is softdome, it can get fatiguing after an hr listening session (This speaker encourages you to turn up the volume) Female vocal reproduction can be improved Vinyl sticker around tweeter looks very cheap up close Tapered shape of housing makes toe-in more difficult Not a neutral studio monitor if that is what you seek Overall: Highly recommended. Although fatiguing during long sessions, I keep coming back for more. Transparency and neutrality are not its strengths but this speaker always puts a smile on my face and gives charm to some of my favorite tracks. Sounds more like a $600 speaker, buy before price increases. Update: After 3 weeks of use, the top end brightness has settled... that or my ears have adjusted. I am no longer fatigued after long listening sessions and have noticed the bass to become even punchier. One drawback is that these speakers are power hungry, give it a true 120+ wpc to make it sing. Very happy with my purchase, will keep me occupied til I save up for a pair of Genelec 8050B or Neumann KH 120

Comparing Budget Speakers
I bought these speakers for a home theater/music listening dual purpose. I compared with 2 other budget speakers. I'm not a high end audiophile. I don't have scientific test equipment or decibel meters and I wasn't looking at the frequency curve, just listening to audio and comparing. That being said, I compared the Jamo S 803, Elac Debut b6.2, and Infinity Reference 152. Result: I returned these speakers and went with the Infinity Reference speakers (get them on sale). Thoughts: Jamo S 803: Light, almost too light. They look great though really, very stylish and can sit in the living room without being an eyesore. The versatility with the atmos passthrough was attractive and front ported means they can be put right up against the wall. Sound was..decent. They're a little bright sounding and fatiguing to listen to for a long time in my opinion. The mids sounded very recessed, but vocal clarity is a big point for me. These speakers did require more power than the others and sounded almost..veiled when listening side by side. That being said, for the money these did not sound bad by any means. The bass was pretty light, and when paired with a sub these sound way better. In a home theater setup, for the price, these are hard to beat. Elac: Got these on sale for slightly more than the Jamos, but they are originally more expensive speakers. That being said, I honestly liked these less than the Jamos. Much better build quality, but I got the 6.2 which is a physically larger speaker so direct comparison is difficult. Bass was where these stood out. Great low end, very full and slightly warm sounding. The mids and highs sounded a little muffled on these speakers. These were very comforting to listen to, and with the right music they would be great speakers. Not my pick for home theater use. My testing helper loved these speakers and I hated them. They seemed polarizing if you like the sound signature or not. Infinity: The winners. Got these on sale for basically the same price as the Jamos. Wow. These speakers are very clear. I got the 152 speaker so same size as the Jamos. The cabinets are a little large, but they sound great. The matching center is awesome (would have loved the larger speakers and center but couldn't fit them in my setup). For the size though, the sound is great. They have clear highs and mids without being fatiguing like the Jamos were to me. Great for music and have a little punch for home theater. Pretty neutral sounding. Paired with a sub they sound much bigger than they are. If you can't wait for the Infinity speakers to go on sale, the Jamos, especially the home theater kit with the fronts, surrounds, and center is an awesome deal. If you can pay just slightly more and the Infinity speakers are on sale, do yourself a favor and get those.

Great speakers
I had been eyeing these for awhile, around Black Friday 2019 they were about $200, for the holidays they went to $147 and stayed until two weeks ago they dropped to $125 and I grabbed them at that price, along with some monoprice banana plugs, oxygen free wire, and some isolation feet. The speakers got here quickly along with the wire and they sounded incredible, my room is wide and short so finding the right soundstage was a bit difficult, but I got it sounding good and spent about 40 hours breaking them in with bass heavy background music during my stay at home order for the covid pandemic. It's about two weeks later and I've since installed the banana plugs and isolation feet and that sweetened the sound up some but mostly just helped fix the wonky soundstage issues I have in my oddle shaped room. Overall these speakers are amazing for the money and I'd still buy them again and again for $200+. I will be getting the jamo s801pm for my desk due to the great sound these have. As others have state the 803 models need room to breathe, I'm not sure they would do well as neat field use, thus the reason I'll be getting the 801 for my desk. But sitting 10-12 feet back in my living room setup in 2.0 they cover a full range spectacularly. A sub is only wanted, definitely not needed with these for general listening and some watching. Buy them...a few times if you can.

excellent
excellent speakers (for their size), full sound, with more base than one would expect, they need to be placed high up (at ear level) before they can fill up a medium size room. stereo effect (stage, sound projection) is tight: you need to be at one exact spot to hear the proper sound, a 5-10 inches towards the left or to the right and you mostly/only hear the one speaker closer to you (so tight would maybe ok for car speakers, but even for office speakers these ones are too tight: I can notice the sound changing, when the desk-chair swivels while I'm working on a computer (i.e. just wiggling in arm's length from a stationary keyboard looking at a stationary monitor, the sound can go from perfect stage/sound projection, to instruments and singer moving all-left, or moving mostly-right)... the placement with respect on the back wall is forgiving (can have them away from back-wall, or hang them on the wall, without much difference in sound), but speaker rotation or having speakers asymmetrical to listener do make a difference in sound....

Very good sound
I needed a front bass port speaker to be wall mounted next to my tv. These sound great for front port, they do have all the downfalls of a small cabinet front port speaker but are better then I expected. They excel at voice in the music and have a lot more bass then I thought they would, had to turn the bass levels down. I made the choice to try these because of the lowered price but after hearing them they compare well at their original price segment. They aren't very efficient speakers with a 87db sensitivity rating but still project well enough to fill the room with sound and using a modern reciever with an audyssey mic balanced them out perfect in my surround sound system. I just wanted a speaker that did the surround well but I could play music through also, these do both very well

Fantastic speakers… for the right person
Lots to say about the S803s. What’s great- the soundstage and imaging on these are fantastic. I demoed these about 3 feet from the back wall and the soundstage reached behind and left/right of the speakers. Bass- no bass punch, but the bass had delicious texture. Highs- boosted treble here, I had to EQ these down to reasonable levels. Mids - scooped out. Personal thoughts- if you can get these away from the wall, these speakers will reward you nicely. These are front ported, but don’t slam them against the back wall unless you like muddy bass. If you like the v-curve sound- you will enjoy these. Turn the treble down and add a subwoofer if you need punchy bass.
