BMC Classic Marx Russian Plastic Army Men - Red 36pc WW2 Soldier Figures US Made

While this pack of soldiers is a bit more pricey than other options on the market, I would have to say that after many years of play, they still hold up very well. This is most certainly the case because they are made in the United States, which means a far better quality control. You get what you paid for. I would say that there is a lack of poses, and they are taller than your average plastic soldier, but I can't find anything else wrong with them. They are sold as advertised.

These Louis Marx Company WWII Russian soldiers first appeared in the legendary Battleground playsets back in the 1960s. It is wonderful to see these classic figures back at a very reasonable price. They are cast from the original molds, and differ from the 1960s originals only in their brown color. These figures are wonderfully animated and display the beautiful sculpting and detail for which the Marx Company was famous. They are made out of a high quality soft plastic that will hold up to many years of play. Anyone looking to round out their plastic WWII armies, or just for something different, will find these figures appealing. An earlier reviewer was concerned about the mix of poses in this set. The mix was not determined by BMC, but the original Marx mold that they used. The mold holds 18 cavities. Marx had four each of the man with the rifle over his head, the running man, and the grenade thrower, and two each of the shooting man, the officer, and the shot man. This kept you from having too many officers and shot men. I too would have preferred more shooting men, but I am happy with the smaller number of officers and shot men. To sum up, this is a great set and a wonderful addition to BMC's growing line of classic toy soldiers.

I purchased these Mini’s to paint them and use them for Diorama. They are delightfully detailed, and the perfect size to be held and painted by someone like me, with not great eyesight or wrist mobility. I primed mine White and then gave them an even layer of model paint, and think they look lovely. 10/10 product, will buy again.

A must have for every collector of toy soldiers! As a kid here in the Philippines during the 70's, these Russian Toy Soldiers were not available. Glad and happy that these are still around and available. The pack has exactly 36 pieces and 6 poses. The only minor issue is the ratio of the pose and piece, meaning it does not follow the exact ratio of 1 pose = 6 pieces. For my pack, 3 poses have 8 pieces each and the rest of the 3 poses have 4 pieces each. Nevertheless, I'm very happy and glad that I have these toys as part of my collection. 😊
