Modkat Flip Litter Box – Front-Entry Design with Integrated Liner System (White)

This one is by far the most solid feeling litter box I’ve bought and I’ve had several different kinds and brands in the past two years trying to find something that my finicky cat would accept. The one box I kept going back to every time my cat decided she didn’t like a new litter box was that blue Vanness XL litterbox, I really liked the size and how tall the entrance is as my cat always pees facing the front and tends to pee on my bed or couch if she feels the litter box is too dirty with smaller boxes. The ModKat box takes up an almost exact amount of space but is actually slightly larger on the inside, not to mention it is a far nicer looking in its simplicity and far easier to clean daily with its foldable top- great if you’re in a very small space like me. In order to clean the blue box the top needs to be removed completely which meant putting it on my ottoman or couch to prevent my dogs stealing and destroying the filter sponges. The entrance is just a smidge lower on the ModKat than the blue one, but hardly noticeable. I am not a litter box liner fan, I did try it on just to see how it would sit and didn’t like how it sagged on the sides. I can imagine that my cat would easily destroy it as she spends a good few minutes scratching and pawing at the sides after using the box. I also don’t see how it would make it easier to clean, there are no handles to lift it out so if you’re using heavy clay litter it could slip out of your grasp. You’d have to wash it and dry it the same as you would with the litter box itself if you weren’t using a liner. The two things I don’t like are those little raised sides right at the corner (I’m hoping it doesn’t make those spots harder to get the clumping litter out of) and that it didn’t have a more protective packaging. For as much as it costs it would suck to have it be crushed or broken during delivery. Bonus: if you have a litter genie the ModKat scoop is works better than the one that comes with the genie and it fits in the basket well enough. All that said I still think it’s overpriced at over $100 once you’ve added up taxes, I bought mine while on sale and it still was almost $97. For comparison the blue one is a bit over $20 plus tax.

I never thought I'd write a review about a cat litter box, but this one is great. I have two cats, both very picky about their box. It needs to be roomy, but not too big. It needs to be covered, because they like their privacy. And it needs to be cleaned (by me) twice a day because they are both very active in there. In the past eight years, I have tried dozens of litter boxes, hoping to find the one that makes them both happy. This is it! It makes the three of us very happy. For me, it was easy to assemble, and I loved the removable liner, great for easy clean up. And the folding lid provides easy access for the twice-daily scooping. +Both cats (Jack and Jill) took to it immediately. Entry is just the right size. Interior is the right size. And the built-in charcoal deodorizer doesn't offend them. And the overall look of the litter box is sleek. I have it in powder room off the laundry area, and it doesn't look clunky or messy like so may other boxes do. So, Jack and Jill love their new litter box, and so do I! Great product!

I love this box so much I bought another one along with the litter mats that are designed to go with it from Modko. I was a little reluctant at first to purchase one of these boxes due to the price. Two of my three cats are high pee-ers. The one does this in the front left corner. I was concerned he would end up going out the entrance hole because there wasn't much corner to work with. Tired of cleaning up urine that made it's way out of the box I took the plunge after reading other glowing reviews. I am really happy I did. I have had no issues at all with urine outside the box. My cats all seem to like it (I have one cat that is afraid of her own shadow and actually had to get rid of a new box because she was afraid of it and wouldn't go in it!). The liners are amazing and I think are what make this box worth the $$. They will greatly increase the longevity of the box by preventing scratches and build-up on the walls of the box. I haven't had any issues with the integrity of the liners - it looks like they re-designed them from previously being made of paper. I bought a couple extra to have on hand. I love the idea of being able to just take them out when I want to get rid of all the old litter and start fresh. The box is designed well and easy to clean - I love the magnet top with space between the box and the lid for maximum ventilation. As I mentioned, I loved it so much I went and bought another, this time I got the litter mats that are designed to fit with the boxes. I lose those as well, but bought them from the Modko website so I am not able to review them separately. I highly recommend them also, though. They fit nicely and are really easy to clean up! The overall look of this box is great. It has less of a, "I have cats and this is where they go to the bathroom" feel, and more of a clean presentation. Highly recommended product that is absolutely worth the price, especially if you have issues with a cat that pee's high and gets urine outside the box via the closure halfway down the box.

My cats like to kick their litter up into the air, but they refuse to use an enclosed litter box. So for the last couple of years I had been putting their small litter tray inside a large cardboard box to stop the scatter. It was finally time to upgrade when the cardboard box was scratched up and tattered... The high walls and the flip-top lid make it very cat friendly. Instead of putting the litter directly into the tarp lining (I wasn't sure how they would react to the feeling of the tarp under their paws), I decided to place their old litter tray inside. The familiarity of their old litter tray made it very easy for them to transition into the new litter box without any issues. I could probably remove the small litter tray in time, but for now its pretty easy to lift it out to clean, and then just shake the crumbs of litter out of the tarp lining. All in all, I love this litter tray so much. Worth every penny. My cats love it too.

About 7 years ago or so, my ginger started to wee as if he is marking. It took me some time to find out the reason of leakage. The litter box was under a shelve, so I hanged a plastic table mat that would work as a wall, which prevented further leakage. But dismounting all the bits and washing them was real time consuming. We once tried a covered box but wee would leak from the attached part, so the box and the wall were back again next day. But my searching was never over. One day I saw modkat on a pet goods supplier site. I found the idea and design extraordinary fabulous, but the size was not right for my ginger, as he would not be able to wee in his style. I just could not give up the idea of not having a modkat so went to check their website, where I found the Flip Litter Box. Just the right size and the right idea!!!! Yes, it is a pricey item, you could probably buy 10 boxes with what you pay for just one. But I realised that it will make a huge difference in that corner of my flat. I could finally say good bye to all the kit (wall made out of table mat, a shelve to hang the wall and the and the litter box) and replace them with a smart white box. And I was absolutely right! The height of the box is fine for my cat to wee in his style and cleaning is so much easier and quicker. 2 liners were included with the box but I don't use them (have never anyway, I can't see the point of using it at all). I have been using "World's Best Cat Litter" (another recommended item) for ages and it goes fine with the box. So far, all going extremely well. I would highly recommend this box to any cats guardians with similar issue. You may find it pricey but I think it's worth it. Another customer reviewed not to be very satisfied with the quality of this item. Yes, it's bit flimsy but definitely well made and you could surely use the scoop to even the litter inside. No need to shake the whole box to do so, it's just my opinion.

This litter box is the best, period. The design is simple and ingenious. The liner makes it incredibly easy to keep it clean, especially with the clamping litter. Unlike other litter boxes we have tried, the liner makes it much easier to scoop used litter out: the litter does not adhere to the liner the way it adheres to the plastic. Together with the mat, it's a fantastic combo. It is very easy to unclip the liner and wipe the inside of the box with an alcohol wipe without removing it. We adopted our cat when she was already a middle-aged lady, with peculiar toilet habits, and this gem of a litter box makes her comfy and happy with a minimal effort on our part. Words cannot convey just how much I appreciate this product.
