Good product, fairly straightforward installation
It took nearly an hour to complete the installation, including cleaning the frame. We have three very active dogs — two Portuguese Water Dogs and a Mini Poodle — so I’m impressed that the original pet flap on our storm door lasted five years. The replacement fits well and the directions are straightforward, although there was a complication. Removing the caps from the flap rod was easy, but both were badly mangled from constant extreme use. (Our boys are on high alert 24/7, tearing outside to supervise dog walkers and UPS trucks.) However, the package does not include new caps — that would add 4 cents to the cost! — so I sealed the rod on both sides with poster hanging strips, removing the backing from only the inside. Of course, I can’t predict how well the strips will hold over time. Unless you have a helper, I’d also recommend using a strong tape such as duck tape to hold the outside frame in place as you screw the two halves back together. It comes off easily when you’re done.

⏰ Lasted 10+ Years. Back Again for Round Two!
I had the original flap in my Ideal Pet door for over a decade, and it finally started to wear out. Found the exact replacement here on Amazon for half the price I saw elsewhere. Fit was perfect, install was quick, and the quality is just as solid as I remembered. When something lasts 10+ years, you don’t mess with success. Highly recommend.

Easy to instal, Perfect Fit
Our dog is huge! He runs through the doggy door like a 153 pound rocket on hyper speed jet fuel! The original magnetic tri-fold door flap had finally broken after years of abuse, so I ordered this new replacement at a great price. We were pleased-to find this replacement was exactly as described, and identical to the original well priced, the magnets are strong enough to quickly make a perfect seal without swinging back and forth which helps maintain temperatures. The magnets are equally as strong and durable as the original, Instructions were easy to follow, making the installation of the replacement a breeze, and Hank was no longer in the dog house for being an over zealous clod! Pun intended

Great replacement but read for tips
Okay so I have the smaller door for my cats, and the bottom flap fell off/the rubber seal that connects it to the middle piece finally tore. Many people say theirs have done that too, hence the replacement door. But these break in roughly a year, the replacement isn’t cheap! I actually took the plastic pieces apart on the new one apart and took the rubber seals out. Since you can remove the rubber pieces, you have two replacements instead of one 😊 This also means you don’t have to take the entire door off too! To do this: there’s screws on the plastic window on both sides. You have to loosen those screws up on the side where the broken seal is, then gently separate the plastic with a flathead screw driver to allow you to slide the black rubber piece out. Since the flap already fell off, I tossed that part, and took the bottom flap off the new door leaving the seal/rubber on the bottom and the black piece on the top. Then take that new piece over to the door and slide it back in place 😊 obviously this will only work if one of the rubber seals is busted, but definitely saves money! Very happy since these doors aren’t cheap. The replacements are quality though, looks exactly like the original.

Good quality & good fit
This was a perfect fit for our doggy door that needed replaced. Easy to install and seems to be holding up well.

Should be easy
This replacement fits great and does what it should. Wish I had it over the summer to keep the flies out. My only issue was the replacement wasn't as smooth as I hoped. It sounded simple, pop the tabs out, slide the rod in and replace the tabs, then reinsert in the door. My issue was that the rod was difficult to line up on the other side but with a steady hand, I finally got it. The frustrating part was reinserting the tabs, I had to remove some of the plastic and sand it down to make the tabs reinsert. I thought, "it came out, should fit back in," but it didn't. I noted that the tabs had a flat side that needed lining up but they still wouldn't budge. It may have just been my door but worth mentioning if anyone else has issues with their replacement.

Almost destructible:)
I replace one of these flaps about every 3 years, but I have 3 large active dogs that zip in and out of the dog door daily and sometimes at high speed! This is a quality product, and only after they zoom in and out for several years does the rubber break down at the top and they break it. I totally don't mind replacing it because it's extremely well made and the individual panels are thick and insulated which has saved me $$s in my heating bills while allowing the dogs 24/7 access to the backyard. This thick plastic is also very easy to clean and maintain, much sturdier than the flimsy plastic flaps on other products. This door has a good weight on it and my cats can easily use it as well. If you have smaller dogs you might want something that wouldn't be do heavy for them to push against although my friend's Pom seemed to do ok using it. This closes immediately after they have gone through. I will continue to buy these as replacements and cannot recommend them enough!

Holds Up Under Heavy Use
We've been using this type of pet door for years now and I've ordered 2 replacements as needed. I have two dogs between 50-70 pounds and they both fit through the flap easily. The younger one seems to charge the flap as she bounds in and out of the house and it will hold up for about 2-3 years with that type of abuse. Eventually, the lower hinge starts to break apart and a replacement looms. No fault of the flap itself but more of a rambunctious 50 pound dog slapping it up against the door all day, every day. We live in South Texas and this is installed in a storm door between the house and a screened-in back patio so the exterior is exposed to extremely high temps during the summers. It does a decent job of keeping the heat out and the A/C in except when the German Shepard will lay in the house on the cool tile with her nose sticking out the lower flap. I didn't notice a change in my electric bill once we installed the door. It's easy to install/replace, easy to clean, and the flap swings back and forth easily without any noticeable drag, noise, or squeaking. It's also light weight enough that it doesn't cause any discomfort to the dogs as they learn how to use it. The fact that it's clear is a great help so they can see the treat on the other side as I trained them to use the door.
